First of.. does the title seem right? Is it 'an' or 'a'? Anyway...

Does any of you think that your brain acts younger then your years? I'm almost certain that I do. I don't mean it in a way where I scream and cry if I don't get my will or throw by playstation controller around when I loose a game. What I mean is that your interests and what you enjoy yourself with is somewhat childish?

To put this in context: I'm 25. I work full time. I live alone. I've been in a serious relationship recently. I'm a responsible person who pays his bills on time, cleans my apartment when needed, have finaciel meetings with my bank and all the other stuff my parents also do.

But even after all that I still don't feel like I'm an adult. I'm still "young" but I'm sure this feeling isn't really going away. I don't think the feeling have gone away from my parents either yet. The world around you just seem to change without you changing with it.

Reason I thought of this was I just finished watching "The Avatar - The last Airbender" the cartoon. All three seasons. And I loved it. I mean, it was freaking good. I was funny and touching and I felt I needed to know that next part of the story. The story isn't very deep but I still felt really entertained. Why wasnt the story deep? Because its made for freaking kids! =) (Well I don't actually know, but seeing at it aired on Nickelodeon I'm just assuming the demographic isn't around 25)

Sometimes I just feel I aged to quickly and my brain can't follow up with how I perceive an adult and how an adult should behave. I don't act like the steroetype adult should do according to my own head. So maybe my perception of adults are wrong? I'm guessing it is and I feel like I already realized this years ago. Then why does it still feel like I have the interest of a child (or teenager if you will) when the rest of my "world" are not a childs anymore.

Its weird how you I can only act the way I feel it right and it still feels wrong...

Now. Can anyone tell me another cartoon like Avatar thats worth watching? I feel like I need to continue being a child... =)

The original dragonball series (not Z, etc.) is awesome, it's pretty hilarious and silly especially early on.

Everyone is a kid inside. People are just really good at faking acting mature.

It's "a childish adult" not "an childish adult." It's only "an" if the next word starts with a vowel sound (like electric, apple, or hour) On to your main question, if you are looking for a show like Avatar, the anime thread on TL might be the best place to ask.

I just thought the "an" would lean on the adult part and the childish with an adjective that didn't matter? I guess I was wrong =)

Yep, it's always the word immediately after it, e.g. "an awesome machine" or "a fat elephant."

Dragonball is one of the best things that ever happened this planet. If you haven't watched or read it you probably should.

You're not the only one; I feel the same way. I have pretty much the same interests I had when I was 12 years old. Then again, I was considered a pretty mature 12 year old, so maybe that's the problem.

Been same way, had pretty mature view on things for the longest time, yet it feels like I'm reverting to more childish and somewhat goofy as I age. I guess the expectations of maturity for 20some people were just plain wrong from me in the first place. Especially these days when people seem to marry later and everything, this phase seems prolonged compared to some decades ago.

It's pretty strange.

Well I'm 22 and I still watch anime and read manga although mostly stuff not intended for children and play Japanese RPG's and so on and will keep doing this far in the future, if that makes me childish then whatever it keeps me going. If you enjoy doing whatever you enjoy doing and it's at least barely legal I don't see anything wrong with it and neither should anyone else. I mean like half of TL seems to watch My Little Ponies, overkill even for me but hey...?

Naruto, Dragonball, Dragonball Z.

All recommended.

Funny, I was just about to recommend My Little Pony, especially if you're channeling your inner child. It's quite uplifting and will make you feel happy, plus it's good and easy to get invested in the characters.

Another good one is Young Justice, which is quite good, or if you feel like digging a bit, going through the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited TV shows were really great imo.

Nothing wrong with being a childish adult As long as you aren't hindering your professional development or social life and you're happy, who cares what your hobbies are behind closed doors? There's tradeoffs with everything. You sound awesome so continue on.

Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remake of DBZ that does away with some of the filler and has improved animation. It's also closer to the manga lore wise. Recommended.

You might like any popular shounen animes though like One Piece, Naruto, or Bleach.

Dragonball Z will be highly recommended. Day9, Wheat, Tasteless, and Artosis we're doing DBZ meme's for 10 mins near the end of MLG last weekend.

As i understand it, DBZ is about to get a revival in the form of a new offical series, so now may be a good time to start on those 500+ episodes and movies.

Keep on going :3 To me, it sounds like you are a very responsible person, if you do take care of your everyday life and finance. I really do not see why it would be bad.
Also, "childish" people are always much more fun to hang around with, as they are often not so uptight :3

I quoted this because it's pretty spot on.

I can relate, but I'm quite a ways younger than you. I still enjoy some Batman The Animated Series from time to time, and I enjoyed the first season of Avatar, even though I never really felt compelled to watch the other two seasons. Part of the reason for this was a little thing called Starcraft 2 happening.

If you are happy then you should just continue doing what you are doing. I play the guitar and even though I'm not particularly good by any means, it just is really the only thing that keeps me going from day to day, so I keep going at it every day. Just do what you enjoy, even if that is as counterproductive as watching TV series or playing the guitar or watching MLG for an entire goddamn weekend (again). Me, I find extreme beauty in noise and dirty sounds, and there is nothing I enjoy more than the bass, guitar and drums screaming fury in unison. That and chemistry jokes. What does 17 Sodium atoms and a certain superhero series have in common?
