A lot of people underestimate how strong the creeps are, especially at early levels. If you have a strong creep advantage in lane (e.g. you have 6 melee creeps, 2 ranged creeps, and a catapult vs. 2 low health melee creeps on the opponent side) that's a great time to use your stuns, the creeps will kill the remaining creeps quickly and then pounce on the opponents and can do 200-300 dmg, especially if they get trapped by a tree or something. The fact that you can't run through creeps/heroes is huge early game in lane.

Nice guide just a little correction for you:
Jungle
...
not something for a level 1-3 hero. Most of them are also magic immune.

Other than that a good write-up for beginners though you leave the most important thing (imo) untouched:
getting to know every hero so you can judge the possibilities of your enemy.

It might be worth mentioning that you can use quelling blade to remove the trees if you are pulling with that item in your inventory. Instead of using a tango.

As for always wanting to double stack pulls, I can't agree with that. Using a single pull to get a dual creep wave is great if you have pushing heroes like chen or pugna on the lane. Usually means ~500 tower damage at a minimum.

Question, did they change cheese in Dota 2 or is it still 2000 hp and 500 mp? Since you said it restored full hp/mp.

i haven't really played dota too much but coming from a HoN pov (which is similar to dota) looks like a good guide for people who are starting into the game.

Thank you for this guide. I haven't played DotA in ages and your post reminded me of how awesome the game is. Please keep posting blog updates! It is my hope to see Techies in the game soon, my fondest memories are playing with my best friend in a Pudge/Techies combo.
