One thing that pushed me away from lol is the terrain. In dota ALL trees that are on edges of normal paths are carefully placed(well, 90%?) And since you can cut them down, those deeper into the forest are also placed carefuly. Knowing the existing paths, how many trees you need to cut down etc can be the difference between life and death. I know its hard to write a full guide on it, but you should at least mention that in the next basics related blog.

Although that might be more of an intermediate thing, I think people should know that denying helps

I'd add that dead bodies from creeps/neuts and heroes themselves can block neut spawning if they are present for the required time when neuts respawn every minute. Not just wards! Also maybe a picture of the boxes around each neut area, which should be the same as dota 1. As seen here in detail: http://www.playdota.com/mechanics/neutralcreeps
