Alright, the boring part first!
Firstly, I apologize for lack of Korean thread, etc. I've been busy, and although I probably have had the time to do so, I've allocated time to recreation instead of making a Korean thread/going through the book. I promise I'll do so eventually: probably when I get around to reading the book again.
I still don't have a real clue what I want to do in college. I'm applying Engineering to my safety schools, and not sure what I"ll do for the others. (Haven't even applied for them yet lol)
In one sense, something law/public policy related is probably where my real strength lies, but I do fairly well in math, and can work my way through it all. It's hard to even fathom what a degree in engineering would be like at this point. I'm still waffling, and law seems good, but I"m still reluctant to spend that much time in school. And at this point everyone is making the assumption that I'll end up going to grad school. Which leads me to why I'm applying to University of Idaho. If I go to U of I, I will actually get paid around 5k a year to attend. This is due to National Merit of course. But yeah, I'll be among the most capable people there, which lines me up nicely to have internships etc, which are good for grad school.
Sigh. It all seems so abstract right now.
I just finished three college apps. San Jose State, Cal Poly Pomona, and University of Idaho.
San Jose State: Close to home backup (for the protective parents)
Cal Poly Pomona: Legit backup
University of Idaho: Father's alma mater. Great for national merit. Cons: No diversity, boring as heck. Moscow Idaho... Do have like 6 foreign exchange programs to Korea though XD
In any case, here is the real meat. I get bored, do not have good idea for Jack O lantern...

Hey my cousin just graduated from U of I PM me if you would like to know more information. Also you're WAY ahead of me on college applications.
What are the other schools you are applying to? Not just your safety schools listed here

Ahhh.. Well, U Chicago is #1 but financially that sucks. Then Rice, USC, and a bunch of UCs. Might apply to Northeastern for national merit. Also Ohio State....
I'm still screwed for apps. Only reason U of I was so easy was I qualified for the no essay app lol.

Jesus if you consider Pomona to be a backup/safety then you're set.
U of I is easy as shit to get into as long as you're not applying business/Engineering.
Also if you don't know what you're doing why not apply undecided?

I'm just used to the crazy UC publics in which I have just about zero chance at getting admitted to the top 50% as undecided. It's that insane.
I will probably go undecided to udub, U CHicago (no penalty there) and Northeastern.

Don't apply as undecided, apply as something random (preferably non-impacted) and then change your major first day of school. Even if you really are undecided, this should help things.

lol but seriously man. I applied to northwestern early for shits and got in. didnt even have to go through applying for more. you never know what you can accomplish.
as for engineering and law, something thats really interesting and that is kicking into high gear with this generation is patent/intellectual property law. with some of the new technologies and new frontiers its hard to determine whats IP and what isnt.

If you think that you have a great chance of getting into U of I engineering then you should try pretty much any engineering school, they're top 5 for that and are ridiculously selective. Also cause it means you don't have any real "reach" schools on your list and you really should.

UChicago is now ridiculously hard to get in unless you apply early action. I got Regents and Chancellors scholarship from Berkeley (top 200 out of 5000 admitted students), and I was waitlisted by Chicago >< . . so bitter. Ended up at Berkeley, which was my safety. Early action for Chicago shouldn't be too terrible.
But yeah . . . . . Chicago is ten times harder than any of the other schools you're considering, and it definitely gets its share of brilliant students, and being around smart people and in classes with smart people means learn lots fasturerr.

Naw, my grades aren't the best. It's just that I"m national merit.
I didn't think that U of I was thaaat selective.... Maybe should've applied letters lol

I don't want to sound rude or anything, but in what universe is University of Idaho top 5 for engineering? It's probably not even top 50, and barely so if that.
Wouldn't top engineering schools for undergrad look something like MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Harvey Mudd, Michigan, Georgia Tech, UIUC
