Basically, when you have to find the Lunar Harp in Bone Village, you can go to Wutai instead and finish whatever there's to do there with Yuffie. If you then go to Bone Village to dig, the Lunar Harp isn't possible to get, and you have to start the game all over again unless you have an older save to go back to, something I didn't.
God, what a nightmare that was. Running around, digging hours and hours, all to no avail, then having to restart on top of that. Either this was fixed in the PAL version or you just did something wrong. On my 100% playthrough 2 years ago for my LP, i did it in this order and was able to dig up the harp without problems. Maybe you forgot to enter the woods' 2 screens before you try to digging it up which iirc is a requirement for it to spawn. Proof (relevant parts ... in German ofc): + Show Spoiler + Hmm, I did play the PAL version. Perhaps there's more to the bug than what I thought it was, because I did buy a guide when I was stuck and followed every step carefully and still didn't make any progress, not to mention I got the Lunar Harp immediately on my second run. I can't recall where I read about the bug the first time, but it might've been the guide itself too.
After some googling, it doesn't seem like the bug is widely known, but I did find some references to it, including this one:
GameFAQs:XXV) -Glitch Dead End: When on Disc 1 at the part were you must go to the Sleeping Forest in Bone Village, go to Yuffie's home town instead. You will not be able to do anything and have to start again. [TheEmulatorGuy, Gamewinners, hereafter known as "GW"] (>>) Kinda vague, and I couldn't find any better, so it might be a rare bug or something. I don't know.

Ooh, do you have a site where I could get started from? I really don't know about emulators at all...
Good SNES emulator: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/snes/snes9x.html Most compatible PS1 emulator: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/psx_em.html Best looking PS1 emulator: http://www.epsxe.com/ Most compatible PS2 emulator: http://pcsx2.net/
For the ps1 and ps2 emulators you need a bios which you legally have to dump yourself from your ps1 and ps2. Then you can play your original discs with the emulator. FF8 and FF9 might not work, just make an image with alcohol120% and you should be fine. FF7 and FF10 worked like a charm with the discs in drive.

I'm actually playing through FF7 again, bought it on PSN since I lost my discs. Last time I played it was probably around when I was 8-9 haha, now the story makes so much more sense! FF8 is still the best in my books tho: storyline, music and CHARACTERS! Damn I loved how thought out the characters were in 8. Quite the opposite of FF12 imo, which is my least favorite.
I still remember Cid being my favorite character for reasons I don't know. He was the highest lvled one and the first one I picked up his ultimate weapon (Venus Gospel, omg I still remember the name of it).

Speaking of FF12. ;( I played through it during last winter break, got to the last area (I think) was a ship, anyway, at that point I'm not sure if it was my PS2 being slow or just the game, but enemies would have massive priority over me, my attack command was done, it just felt like waiting till all the enemies attacked 2-3 times before actually attacking, at which point I had to heal up, so I gave up. Is that just my PS2 being old and slow? >.>

To be honest, the PC version just isnt good. IMO get the PS version, get the EPSXE emulator, and just go for it man. its great, and doesnt have the crappy feeling of the pc portOn June 14 2011 23:11 jacen wrote:Show nested quote +On June 14 2011 14:35 Dalguno wrote:On June 14 2011 07:14 Servius_Fulvius wrote: You can download an emulator and roms to play 6 through 9.

Sorry, for my bad recommendation. I dont put that much emphasis on speed so i am happy with snes9x. But xarthaz is probably right.

You lucky dawg, I wish I had a PC copy or a copy in general... Sometime, someday again I will

There's no way I forgot to enter the forest, not even the slightest chance. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure it out, and as I said, I even bought a guide after I got tired of trying. I doubt it's hardware related, considering I found a mention of it on that FAQ and some other sites. There's probably more to it than just doing Wutai before Bone Village, but it's there on the PAL version.

I'm working my way through every final fantasy. I owe it to myself being a huge fan of the ones I've played, and a gaming nerd . 7 is my fav so far. Playing through 10 right now, and its pretty good but I feel its missing the big "umph" or story twist factor. I'm not done so it still has time to please .
I also played through 13 and its a very close 2nd place in terms of fun factor. I know a lot of people hated it for various reasons, but I really really enjoyed it. Its the closest I came to 100% (out of any game I've played). Sunk 89 hours into that boy. Have maxed characters, and half of the best equipment I can get. Very good game and CAN'T WAIT for 13-2 and 13 verses :3.
