Yeah it does have a front-facing camera. My iPhone 4 plan is ending pretty soon, so I'm going to grab the SGS2 next month.

I just got the Samsung Galaxy S 4G last week from Tmobile whats the difference between the S4g and the S2? Aesthetics wise they look very similar, but I prefer it over my friends HTC head and shoulders even though mine doesn't have an option to "browse as desktop" which does mean a few extra clicks to get off the mobile version of web sites. I had to laugh at myself because I went to TL on my phone when i first got it and it automatically loaded the mobile version which doesn't have any of the bars on the right/left and i thought the browser sucked....till i scrolled down to the very bottom and saw "turn off mobile version".
Edit- Ahhh i just ran a google search on specs, basically they are the same phone minus a few things(Mine has no LED flash for pictures/only 512 meg ram/diff processor supposedly upgraded to handle graphics better with a boasted 5x improvement lol/froyo vs gingerbread)
Also edit: posted from my phone!

Quite a few noticable differences actually in terms of the differences between galaxy s 4g and galaxy s ii. It's pretty much outlined here, at least specs wise: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=3719
left hand side being GS2 and right hand side being S4G: - super AMOLED + vs super AMOLED (this shoud mean brighter and more battery efficient) - 4.3" screen vs 4" (some may argue 4.3" is too large so it's personal preference here) - 8MP camera vs 5 MP (not to say megapixels define camera quality, but there has been mention of improved camera quality anyway) - 1080 p hd video vs 720p - 2mp front camera v something (my guess is .3 or 1.3) MP front facing camera - android 2.3 vs android 2.2 - the big thing you were missing out was that GS2 has 1.2ghz dual cores, rather than GS4G's one single core. - 16/32gb memory and 1gb ram vs 1gb and 512mb ram. - in other words, galaxy s ii is superior!
this would be the comparison between galaxy s ii and htc sensation: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=3875
it's important to note that these specs dont actually highlight performance, but rather what these phones are on paper.
notable differences (galaxy s ii on left, htc sensation on right) - cheaper plastic body vs better build - however this enables galaxy s ii to be lighter and thinner by 30 grams, so really it comes down to personal preference on whether build quality or weight counts more for you. - touchwiz v htc sense (personal preference but i think most prefer htc sense) - super AMOLED screen vs super lcd (super amoled is more efficient, brighter and is all around better. the screen is actually one of samsung's key selling points) - 480 x 800 resolution vs 540 x 960 (htc wins here if higher resolution is preferred) - 16/32gb mem, 1gb ram vs 1gb mem, 768mb ram (samsung clear winner here) - no stereo recording vs stereo recording (htc wins here for recorind audio) - 2mp front camera vs vga camera (i think vga = 0.3MP)
in terms of actual performance, i would have to dig deeper, but you get the idea.

I own a SGS2 and at first the lightness and the plastic case bothered me a bit, but it's actually pretty nice since it takes absolutely 0 effort to hold and it doesn't hit the ground with much impact when you drop it (happened to me like 5 times).

That would be incorrect ive got a 16gig sdcard in my gaxy s 4g

The AMOLED 2 screen on the SGS2 beats any other screen IMO, except maybe iPhone's. Both are pretty similar, similar texture and don't become blurry in different viewing angles. The SGS2 is the best for the eyes during broad daylight.

I hope the SGS2's screen doesn't shatter like the iPhone's. Several of my friends had to replace their iPhones because their screens shattered so easily.

Don't worry; SGS2 has Gorilla Glass! That stuff is ridiculously sturdy and takes a lot to crack, shatter, or chip.
I'm not going to debate anything, but I came to say that I will likely be getting either SGS2 or a beastly quadcore phone in 2012. :>

Well I was thinking about that too. Samsung is releasing the SGS3 sometime next year, as well as iPhone 6 next year too. But I couldn't wait that far, and it seems that SGS2 is probably going to last me a pretty long time anyway.

I'm still surprised at people who think the iPhone 5 can even compete with the SGS2. The SGS2 just blew the iPad 2 (which uses the same iOS as iPhone 5) out of the water.

When is SGS2 coming out for US carriers??!!! Anyone got any ideas?
I am getting a smartphone, but I really don't want to get anything other than SGS2. Grrr~~~~

The plastic does not have to be extremely durable because the phone is so light it does not hit the ground with much force. To answer your question, yes, it has withstood the drops without any cracks or dents. The only way I can see something breaking would be if the phone got pinned between a car door or something like that.

Samsung makes fairly good hardware, in the things that actually matter the Samsung is better (lighter, better screen, better cameras). If you actually care about updates, Nexus S is your best bet though.

Because benchmarks are largely meaningless? Who cares if your phone scores 1000 points or 10,000 points in Sunspider because if you can offer a good experience, people will throw money at you to buy your product regardless of arbitrary benchmark scores.
It'll compete thanks to everything else Apple offers through their cloud services and App Store, which has been the case since the dawn of time pretty much.
