Still, there are some things that will always keep me smiling and it might just make you smile as well.

There’s so much good music available to the masses (thanks to the internet) that it’s hard to consume everything that’s being offered. I know some people complain about how a lot of popular music today has degenerated into a steaming pile of fecal matter, but trust me there is great music out there. You just got to put the work into it.
Burial – Stolen Dog
Off his latest EP Street Halo, this beautiful and stunning track is classic ambient and minimal dubstep that has defined for me personally the sheer creativity and excellence of the UK dubstep scene. I know some of you TLers love your Rusko and Skrillex, but if you haven’t had a chance to listen to Burial yet give him a chance. You’re not going to experience something so emotive and introspective as this.
Starkey – Stars
A relatively old track, but there’s nothing better than letting the beautiful and seductive voice of Anneka Warburton guide you through the endless stars of our beautiful universe <3
Jacques Greene – Another Girl
I don’t care what everyone else says, house is back and it’s better than ever.
DOM – Living in America
Another somewhat old track, but after watching baby eagles hatching (link) for the past few days I’m feeling very American right now! Tongue-in-cheek patriotism at its finest.

Rick Owens is like the Lou Reed of the fashion world. His showcase of varying designs can be described as in-your-face cacophony of grunge meets elegance. A true exemplar of an avant garde artist, he walks on this fine line between functionality and glamour that differentiates him from the other prominent designers like the late Alexander McQueen and so on. He’s known for his women’s wear, but his men’s collection is absolutely crazy. Here are some pictures from his 2011 Winter Men’s Collection:

His leather jackets are second to none. If you ever have the chance of getting your hands on one of his bomber jackets, it’ll be the definitive showcase of your wardrobe. Be warned, the price tag is not for the faint of heart.

The “Unmakeable” Interactive Book
“The book is actually a kind of interactive paper-sculpture: Foer and his collaborators at Die Keure in Belgium took the pages of another book, Bruno Schulz’s The Street of Crocodiles, and literally carved a brand new story out of them using a die-cut technique.”

The Decalogue
I just finished Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski’s magnificent television series The Decalogue and I’m still reeling about them even now. The series consists of ten 1-hour short films that represent each of the Ten Commandments. Through the visual medium he explores the meaning and implications of these commandments in the contemporary setting of Poland, bringing about a cathartic and therapeutic effect onto its viewers. Be warned, some of these short films are definitely not for the faint of heart.
If you don’t have time to watch all the films, I suggest watching Decalogue I and Decalogue VI.
