Have you tried the mech transition? Late game I find tanks + thors + emps to be a pretty solid combo. I'm Oreo.729 if you wanna practice, I'm a diamond protoss =] | ||

Protoss is favored in the late game. If you want to keep playing for late game then do it, the practice will be worth it. If winning is what you want then construct all-in builds, since all-in is very strong vs protoss you should do fine. It's up for debate whether P is overpowered late game, if you disagree then imo you're not at a high enough level - keep practicing. I'm watching countless replays and trying so hard. It makes me depressed sometimes when I put everything I have into the game and lose, especially when they're not trying as hard. (forcefields not being used in large battles that would tip their favor greatly, spreading, ETC ). I'm going to work on a build that transitions from bio to mech. | ||

I hardly/never play with mech, so I don't quite know how to play with them. When I do, I think I'm too aggressive. I love mobility and being able to do drops. Mech doesn't really allow me to be very mobile and thus I can't be as aggressive as I would like. I have to play more passive with mech because I don't quite know how to handle it yet. Also, it says I cannot find you on battle.net; are you sure you have the right character code? | ||

I'll disagree with that largely, and altho im not at the very top of masters (i work crazy hours, only get to play ~10 hours a week), im up there enough to face top players semi-often. Terran even if they dont play all-in's (which is fucking retarded with mules) can still be VERY deadly in the mid-late game vs protoss.. Keep in mind, terran can suicide your whole army basically and have a new army up in seconds, while protoss's main army (ie anything other than zeal/stalker) is very expensive/costly. If you manage to do an army trade, and take out all his collosus/immortal/temp, you will come ahead in the longrun if it keeps happening. Just watch GSL matches, watch how the top terrans like MVP deal with protoss.. Using their drops to maximum effect (i mean, healing dropships!) just makes it so hard for protoss to defend at all locations at once. Its just that most terrans do not have the skill yet to take advantage of this fact, but once they do, we'll stop hearing the ridiculous "Protoss is OP lategame" arguments. The matchup is very close to balanced right now, anyone whining either way is just solely whining. Either side should be able to win if they play good, point blank. I'd like to see some stats from GSL about PvT games which lasted past 20 minutes, and see who won most of them. I would guarentee its at least very close to even, if not T in the lead. My advice if you are truely struggling with TvP so hard and think its so easy to play protoss (im dissapointed in you Kyhol for saying that, someone at your level shouldnt say things like that..).. then play P at a top level for afew weeks and see how "easy" it really is. I personally random at 2800 masters, and I dont see any problem on either side of TvP, other than SCV/3rax allins being insta-win | ||

Literally 5 seconds. You're saying Terran outproduces Protoss after an army trade? Last I checked nothing Terran has builds in 5 seconds. Expensive units taking long to make? Templar take 5 seconds to make... If you fail to kill all the expensive units? Expect to get rolled hard next encounter Dropping everywhere? You said you're at near the top of the ladder. Therefore you should be familiar with the phoenix colossus combos that are so common. You /will/ lose your entire drop if you drop against a good Protoss. Healing dropships? Not so healing when they get feedbacked and instantly blown up. Yes, you can stim your guys to drain the energy or EMP the medivac, but then there goes your healing. A templar warpin and zealots will completely trash your drop. Also there's no proof that once Terran use drops more that the late game will be balanced at all. You're just hypothetically stating it. And Protoss can drop just as effectively. Warp prisms? | ||

Anyways, aside from the flaming that's going on, let's try to be adults and work this one out and come up with a solution to my problem please. I am only going to resort to crying about toss being imba/OP late game if I've literally exhausted every possible resource that I have at trying to overcome protoss late game. I am going to admit that my skills need much polishing and there are many new skills that I can use that I haven't touched upon yet such as going for a mech build. I don't know how to play with mech yet, and it is something I need to learn. There's much I need to learn and many skills I can acquire and I'd really much like to do that and learn from those who do know how it's done. | ||
