So, I'm not sure how to start this off, but I think my gf might be more committed to sc2 than I am right now. My gf started playing 1v1 ladder 3~4 days ago (when I bought her a new account). The last account I bought her, I started playing on it and made blizz top 200. She could no longer play on it b/c she'd be facing against diamond players when she's just beginning to learn the units, etc.
So, her first day, she gets to bronze with a 0-5. She gets discouraged saying that she sucks and she'll never get better. She proceeds to lose the next 10 games and get to 0-15. She finally wins a game because her opponent disconnected.. 1-15 ! She gets really disappointed at herself saying she doesn't want to play anymore.
Then couple days later, I check her stats...She has 100 games in already on ladder...Her record is something like 47-50 now. I was VERY impressed with her. She's still learning the new units and stuff. She says she hates people who cheese and get those invisible units.
Sometimes she doesn't pick up the phone but I see her on b.net "Quick Match 1v1". Sometimes I message her on msn and she doesn't answer, but answers immediately when I message her on b.net.. haha I love her and she's perfect :D

Her character name on b.net is MissStalife and if you guys see her, PLEASE don't go invisible units on her or cheese. She'll type "Nice cheese" and leave. lol

I have the opposite problem. I lent my gf my account and she played a bunch of ladder and now I can't win ladder matches anymore

My girlfriend picked up SC1 because I liked it so much, but it was just two months before SC2 came out x.x So now I'm playing SC2 and she occasionally plays SC1 (and I'll play a bit with her because I feel bad).

Do you know how tempted I am to go on ladder for the first time ever post-beta JUST for the hope of finding this individual and massing Ravens? It's not cheese, but I would definitely make her extremely cross with me. Heheheh... maybe if I had more time I would do that. I think it would take too long to find her.

Dating someone who got the same hobby as you is pretty nice, as long as it doesnt go too far. I have gotten relationships ruined for obsessing too much over gaming, when I repeatedly did not pick up the phone cause I was in game and stuff, it got annoying even for a fellow gamer.
Not saying that will happen to you though, she is probably just eager cause its still kind of new and she has started to win Either way, she sounds amazing, happy for you man!

My GF played the SC campaign and that was as far as she got. She watched me play like 3-4games online on BW and then she'd try to call me in the middle of the game and ask me what a unit was or something. Girls are cute when they are clueless.

Lucky guy. My significant half always ends up arguing with me about how Protoss are imba and how they should be nerfed..so talking about SC2 with them is asking for argument worth of couple of hours. And they refuse to play against me as well. So be glad your significant half doesn't have these tendencies. :-D

the matchmaking system is designed to make everyone go 50-50 in the long run
that's why it's dumb to put down 3000+ point diamond players saying "they only have a 50% winrate".

Nice story Stalife My girlfriend also became obsessed with watching me play Starcraft Broodwar. A few years ago, I ended up buying her a copy of the game so we could play together. Tought her how to 9 pool and even let her beat me on the odd game or too ^^ Come to think of it she would often sit behind me watching me play and remind me when to make pylons lol..
When I quit broodwar I didn't even contemplate getting Starcraft 2, as I knew it would suck away a large portion of my social life. It wasn't untill she told me to get back into it that I did
