As a Zerg, I find warp gates rushes way easier to defend than a Terran's MMM ball. Also, being someone who has used all three races extensively, I have had way greater success with Terran rushes than Protoss, even though I've played roughly 200 more games as Protoss.

But 4gate is a specific timing attack, not an overarching unit composition like MM (M) is. To illustrate: I find 5 roach rush easier to counter than Muta/ling/Bling. While a bioball can be rushed it can also be used even lategame, like in the day9 daily with stalife. This is a great little experiment but seeing as there's 1 participant it's indicative of nothing.

I dont know about what the most difficult mu for the second one is but i would have to assume it is probably the same. I don't know if I agree with this. Protoss was a little more accessible for weaker players, sure. But what do you mean by master? Is pvz difficult in any notable way in sc2 compared to other matchups or are you just giving your personal experience with that?

It was the easiest race to get to a rank like C+ or B- on iccup with, but that's hardly "mastering" the race, because players at those ranks are still pretty bad. PvT becomes a nightmare at higher levels, and being able to consistently win against good terrans is extremely difficult.

I'm a Protoss player too, maybe I should try this with Zerg? I'm planning to play Zerg when we get access to the NA server anyway, this would be one way to test it out... You should keep track of your W/L records by race as well, it would be interesting to see how you are doing in each matchup. If you've never played the race before then the mirror should be the hardest matchup for you by far.

TvZ is probably the hardest matchup for me when I play good Zs. That is, the ones that go mutas, force marines, and then completely demolish it with bling/infestor/ling.

I used my guest accounts to play zerg and protoss, I played protoss in beta and switched to terran. With zerg I went 15-5, not that good- using 1 base infestor to double expo strats vs every race. The only loses I got were from an extremely quick banshee and 4 from 4-5 gate warp gate rushes. As protoss, I went 17-1 using several different strategies. Many involved a close stargate and 2 void rays vs terran and zerg. Versus protoss I experimented using a usually 2 gate opening to phoenix with a forge upgrading armor and shield on chrono boost. I would then steamroll most of the toss players with an army usually consisting of mass zealots and 8 stalkers + 8 phoenix, which would be lifting the units in the back which regularly would melt the zealots. I came to one conclusion- protoss is an extremely safe race. Most maps are wellfitted for them, especially ones with a gold expansion near the natural. Going for a fast observer versus respectable terrans seems to be a must, and then chrono boosts + correct tech decisions can usually counter what the terran is doing. I would continue playing protoss except I am seemingly garbage at pvp on a higher level- the phoenix zealot strat only works so many times. @ city, spider mines gave terrans a level of control that has nothing comparable in sc2. They are two different games. Pvt is not a nightmare in sc2, only maurader drops when distracted, or if for some reason the terran is turtling and has mustered a small army of banshees

I don't think Terran rapes Protoss, as it is obvious Protoss are definitely climbing the ladders at the moment. I just can't imagine Terran can complain when they definitely have a more open game to play than Protoss does. Very rarely can you see any Protoss being the aggressor and making the unit combo they want, rather than reactionary. And if they are, it is probably because they are very ahead anyways.

I mean if you're going from plat protoss to diamond zerg that's impressive. Otherwise you can kinda just win by 'having more shit'. I've recently done the same, but zerg->protoss and within 50 or so game am playing 800 diamond players (my zerg is 850-900 diamond) just simply because I'm capable of macroing and having more shit.
