That'll put hair on your chest. On a more serious note, I'm just happy things are starting to turn around for me. I dropped out of uni/college twice! WTF, I was mad. This is third and final round and I paid off $10,000 of USELESS tuition FML! I think my perspective has changed, where as before I was afraid at every turn, now I see more of people instead of just assholes. for the most part. Oh yeah and BW FOR LIFE!
Share your anthem! Mine would be Oh Canada since I've lived here all my life but 1 year, I was born in Costa Rica.
yea, the russian anthem is pretty baller but I just cant take it seriously because after the downfall of USSR they just switched the lyrics but the melody stayed the same. I'm used to the old lyrics...

greatest hymn music ever had to survive. Besides i think lyrics changing isnt a bad thing at all. It's like respecting your past, while admitting that some things from the past are better off changed.

Haha, I'm the same way, man - every time I hear that opening horn I can't help but start thinking all the old lyrics....

They got economically pwned. I like to say its the ________(certain people's) interests but then I'll get labeled, plus I'm not satisfied with my research just yet. Anyways, I love all people, and your nation is big and lovely! lol. (thats what she said)

I must disagree with that. We had a similar problem with our anthem when the communism took over back in 1944. Our anthem back then was really aggressive, kind of like the french, so the commies wanted to change it. We didnt bother switching the lyrics cause it would've spoiled one of the most important national symbols, so we just picked another song.

Союз нерушимый республик свободных...
It's like burned into my brain, man, lol.
The translation is mad ironic lol..
"The union of indestructible free republics..."
LOL
Yeah, well, the soviets had something of a knack for trying their best to ignore reality, lol.
Well, since no one has posted the US one yet, I suppose I will. I went with an Instrumental, that way someone else can choose what they think is the best performed one (I sang the national anthem at a Major League Baseball Game once, with 4 other guys).
Armies of Vietnam, forward! With one single determination to save our Fatherland, Our hurried steps resound on the long and arduous road. Our flag, red with the blood of victory, bears the spirit of the country. The distant rumbling of the guns mingles with our marching song. The path to glory is built by the bodies of our foes. Overcoming all hardships, together we build our resistance bases. Ceaselessly for the People's cause let us struggle, Let us hasten to the battlefield! Onward! All together advancing! For one eternal Vietnam.
Soldiers of Vietnam, forward! The gold star afluttering Leading the people of our native land out of misery and suffering. Let us join our efforts in the fight to build a new life. Arise and break these chains. For too long have we swallowed our hatred. Be ready for all sacrifices and life will be radiant. Ceaselessly for the People's cause, let us struggle, Let us hasten to the battlefield! Onward! All together advancing! For one eternal Vietnam.
it has one of the longest intros ever for a national anthem, it was originally a longer song and in the world cups it gets shortened up more but its still so great! I love my country and this anthem!
but the RUSSIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM is so much powerful vocally. Russia FTW
Yeah, the russian anthem is certainly one to get the blood flowing and getting ready for some heroic homeland defence. Tier one in my book.

I expected that some overenthusiastic norwegian would have posted it, surprising to see it posted from a foreigner. That is the version they use each year after the prime ministers televised speach on new years eve, agreed that it is very low key and pleasant.
It is kinda interesting to see the difference between the difference in the tune between the two neighbouring countries where one is a great power and the other, uhm, not so much. :p
I too love the Russian anthem... I think it stemmed from the fact that I played CoD a lot and was exposed to its awesome. Bring on the conspiracy theories.
