APB North America starts tomorrow at 9est/8cst and Alienware is giving out beta keys.
There are about 9 thousand keys available for you so grab them while you can.
I thought if people are still having trouble finding something to do, maybe they can play this beta while we wait for the other beta heh! I personally will be playing this just to waste time and hopefully it'll be good, from the things I heard. (It's like 8gbs dl [overnight DL] and the client downloader DL is like 70mb and they capped the dl speed to like 100 Kb/s)
I have extremely low expectations given that every other mmo/action beta i've played has been terrible... but it might be worth it to fool around for a couple hours.
edit: FYI my download speed has been consistently around 285 kb/s, so they aren't capping speed at 100
Seems like the kind of game I'll either like a lot or despise. Probably the latter, but why the heck not? I got nothing to do but Track Mania right now

I think I'll pass. I've been looking forward to APB to see how well it plays, but I have little interest in dipping my toes in the water unless I get can waist deep in it.
I tried the game a few weeks ago it was terrible. It actually feels like an old console game, the controls are horrid the gameplay is boring, and the graphics are pretty bad for a 2010 game. Don't really have anything good to say about it from my experience
how can it possibly be rushed? I remember reading about it more than a half decade ago and even then the devs said (in maybe 2004?) that it wouldn't be released until 2009 or 2010. I always thought they had a good approach due to that comment.
I don't think I've ever seen a time-limited trial limited by gameplay hours. I wonder why they just didn't go with 7 day trial, or if they wanted to be more restrictive a 3-4 day trial.

Graphics are actually really good for being MMo. Beyond that, eh
Still waiting on my email for a download link... same with a couple other friends who tried. Got the key no problem, but once registered at APB's website, it's not sending the email after that.
Ah well, not really that concerned. Just would've been something nice to distract me while I wait for SC2 to come back up.
Edit: Didn't catch that this was from the last few minutes of the beta. Can't find any good recent beta footage though
I know it's not that recent, but that's pretty much what it's like now.
I personally tried the 5 hour beta, and enjoyed it a lot. A couple bugs and a little lag, which sucks in any shooter, was frustrating, but for the most part it's exactly what you are thinking, and that is GTA in an online environment.
