My thoughts on D9

About D9's main character being a dick, I think that it showed how he was a flawed character which made the movie a little bit more "real". You can't honestly imagine some random guy who is turning into a fucking beetle alien to remain calm and do the most heroic things. He does save the shuttle at the end which shows how he has turned into the reluctant hero or whatever.
My thoughts on Avatar

I thought it was one of the most visually beautiful movies of all time. The plot was a bit cheesy. I got a little bored when I watched it the second time at all the scenes which weren't pandora-nature/flying/action scenes. The movie had a simple plot but it was well done.
I can't vote for one of the two since I loved both of them so much. I think Avatar, D9, Up, Moon, The Hurt Locker, The Hangover, Star Trek, and <I CANT THINK OF ANY OTHERS BUT I KNOW I'M MISSING A BUNCH OF MOVIES> were the best movies this year.
