Today i got a notice in the mail saying that my apartment unit has been creating too much noise in the past week and this was the first of 3 warnings. At the 3rd warning, they kick me out. Quiet time in my apt building starts at 10PM and by then, im not doing anything and if I am, it involves headphones anyways because im not an asshole. My dumbass roommates on the other hand think it's their god given right that they should blare their fucking video games at 1AM, making it difficult for me and damn near everyone else to sleep. I told them today that if this shit happens again, i'm pulling their goddamn TV out.
Some of you might ask why i might do that or what gives me the right to do that. The reason is because I do everything in this goddamn place. I pay all the fucking bills and have to tell them to cough up their portion instead of them being good roommates and looking into it. The last apartment that we left was sending out a statement considering our security deposit and they basically said "oh we don't want it". Thank fucking God i told them to shut the fuck up. Also when i found out we had termites in the kitchen, they refused to do anything about it because they were too busy being lazy dumbasses. More shit that they do that i hate is: they eat all of my food and when i ask about it they don't even have the decency to say that they ate it and say "We all did", they have no hygiene, i brought my own microwave because they were the dumbasses that said they could live without one. Now they use it everyday without even a thank you or even cleaning it after something blows up in it.
Those that say move out, i have no choice. First off, i can't because i signed a 9 month lease on this apt and if i want out then i'll have to go through a shit ton of legal consequences. And another problem would be one of those asshole roommates is my cousin, and he's a fucking douchecanoe. When my dad comes by to drop shit off, he doesn't even look up and just goes back to playing his bullshit or pretending to read with his music on. He does that shit to his mom too, she came by one time and he just kept fucking playing, ignoring her. So if i try to move out, he'll play that "family" card on me by calling up my grandma and twist a fucking story up. Goddammit i hate this bullshit.
I cannot wait to transfer out.

family is just family, if hes pissing you off make him know about it, and get rid of him as soon as you can? you seem pretty independant and it sounds like you feel like you are shackled to him. just tell him to shape up or you won't pay for his rent/food and take away your microwave

Unless you've already created a you vs them situation, i suggest you try to turtle and manipulate the other players into fighting with each other. once they have basically wiped out each other's bases, or when everything is mined out, push out with your tanks and clean up whats left.

Don't try to teach them a lesson by not paying bills and being obnoxious and nasty and taking away the microwave and whatnot; what will happen is that they will all turn against you, thus leading to your detriment. Are they room-mates or house-mates? Because if you have your own separate room move your microwave into it and get a cool bag or a mini-fridge if you can afford it. That solves one problem at least. Keep all dried and canned food in a locked box. It sounds pretty extreme, but if you're a student on a limited budget then you have every right to protect your money. It's fine if you live in a house where sharing is considered natural and equal, but from the OP it doesn't sound like that is your situation.
Also if putting the microwave in another room isn't possible then maybe send it to a friend or your parents for a while. I'm sure you can live without it yourself if you try and then you'll have a less stressful time. (I hate cleaning microwaves myself. I always microwave things with a plate on top to save making a mess.)

I always found if you totally cover something it kasplodes all over the microwave. They actually have microwave covers that let stuff breathe while providing protection for like 95% of the microwave. Dunno if anyone on a small budget would feel like spending the $5-$10 they cost, though.
To the OP: I'd say move out and screw the consequences of your cousin making up stories about you. I have cousins that I hate and have no qualms telling them that. I'd sooner be homeless than be sharing the same living space with them.
You have to do what's right for you, and short of infringing on another person's rights or leaving a girlfriend with your child or something fucked up like that, there shouldn't be anything stopping you from living comfortably.

What a pain in the ass. I often feel angry at my roommates but in comparison to yours their annoying habits seem like nothing. Makes me feel a little better about my situation. I don't have any advice except for you to keep hope you'll find some better people to live with once you transfer. The learning you'll have done will permit you to screen potential roommates more easily as well.

I've never rented an apartment so this might be horrible advice, but if you are looking to get out of your lease, why don't you just keep letting them get noise complaints, let the landlord kick you all out, then go find a new place to live without them?
Also it sounds like this isn't the first place you've rented with these guys, why do you keep doing it if they suck so bad?

Getting kicked out ruins your reputation for renting a room in a complex. Kinda like getting fired from a job for being a dipshit - nobody is going to hire you if you were unreasonable for your last employer to handle.

thank you everyone for your opinions and suggestions in this matter. i have considered some of your suggestions while the others are shitcanned. My game plan for this situation is to tell them the shit i want done, such as the microwave cleaned after use or food conserved and such. That way they have the opportunity to redeem themselves. If they fuck up and become douchecanoes about it, then i'm moving everything from my microwave to my water filter/pitcher to my room.

I've been in the same situation before. That was when having a very big room (converted living room.) with a sturdy lock on the door came in handy. I just moved everything including all my food into my room in a cool bag and also took away my TV and game consoles from the shared living room. Now I live in a onetel and have my own shower, toilet, sink and mini fridge in the room so aside from cooking and laundry I'm pretty much self-contained. It's bliss.

Everytime you get to your apartment from school and shit, just take all your clothes off and walk naked in there all day long.
Sooner or later they will all move out.
If this fails you can follow CaucasianAsian's advice.

I just went through all the noise complaints and threats to be evicted. Fyi, no one will kick you out. It is practically impossible unless you got some really wild shit going on. In order to evict you they have to give you a month notice to begin with, thats after multiple complaints. Thing is, you can stay there and unless you had cops showing up at your place registering serious disturbance to others they wont stand a chance in court. They wont even take you to court since it will be a major waste of time without this serious evidence. Playing video games late at night is not an evidence. A friend of mine lasted till the very end of his lease and totaled over 20 complaints( same rule, 3 complaints and youre out) I had 5 personally, they called the cops once but cops didnt even go in since nothing illegal was going on. All the complaints came from same neighbor who lived below us, apparently the floors were shitty and every time someone walked his ceiling was shaking. He kept pounding on it for days.
I spoke to landlord 100 times and i basically said "we dont party, neighbor is crazy, floors/insulation is shit, i cause no problems" She threatened to kick me out but eventually she had to move us to another apartment where im staying right now. Its funny, last incident happened when i was talking to kdog on the phone, i dont know why but i was getting excited and i kept jumping up and down on my mattress without realizing it. Then i heard screaming and pounding like never before, something fell and broke, people started running. ROFL i must have caused an earthquake. So dont worry about the legal part until it gets real bad.
about your roommates - you either let them know what the rules are or live with it. Eat outside or in your room, lock things up. Its your choice. Apparently u cant move out so let it be your lesson

Anyways - It only gets better. Yes you might have to put up with that shit now, but focus on work/school so that when the lease is up, you're in a good position to get away from them.

lucky, and if i remember, rent was cheap as hell too. All that (bills included) would cost me 500 a month. so enjoy it while i suffer.

Is getting out of the lease that bad? Usually in my experience its just costs you some $ to break it and its done. I had the luxury of having very good roommates when I had them so in this situation im not sure wtf you can do. I would tell them that their behavior is unacceptable and that they need to pull their weight and that they cannot just dump all on you. You just have to make your feelings known and if they start crap or just ignore you then try to break the lease or just ride it out (maybe while doing this do what others suggested such as taking all stuff thats yours into your room.) until lease over and your free. Interestingly enough I never had any family that I really hated or disliked like you. I guess im lucky in that sense but then again I never had to live with any of my cousins heh. GL with this man I know this kind of stuff can just be draining but don't give up hope and don;t let them walk all over you.

my housemate disabled his roomate's wireless card through the bios when he kept him up too late many nights in a row. Somehow though, I think there's a better solution. If it really is this bad, you should move out, or at the very least, listen to what nevergg says.
I've been really lucky with roomates and besides one being a little noisy last year, they've all been good roomates. How did you end up living with them again if you lived with them before and they made crappy roomates?
