For people who play on bnet a lot...has anyone noticed a LOT more hacks going 'round than before? Like a ridiculous increase?
Like more than 3/4s of the games I played tonight, be they FMPs, BGHs, Pythons or random old blizz maps, some fucker was blatantly hacking.
I mean...before, like you'd run into someone very subtly maphacking or some shit every now and then, but tonight it was absolutely ridiculous...every other fucking game there was a multiselect hacker with APM in the 600s, rushes with no scouts, drops every fucking game, etc...
What the fuck happened to bnet?
-____-;;
EDIT I play on west, btw...

When there's no more room for serious professional gaming on iccup, the dumb will walk the battle.net.
|
Bnet, or at least East, has always been heavily infested with hackers, nothing new here.

What's wrong with playing SC for fun? Yeah exactly, I love going on bnet for the play/obs games and generally just owning the BM newbs that think they're the shit that dwell within Clan X17.

What can you do? I mean, I hate hackers as much as the next guy. But without anti-hack or any dedicated Blizz intervention, and with hacks so freely available, there's bound to be rampant cheating.
Just play games for fun and move on with your life. Or play UMS ^^
|
It's the same on Europe, hackers whereever you look.
Just stick to Iccup, public servers ain't worth it anymore.
|
I play games for fun, but it's frustrating as hell when you get beaten by a 4 pooling maphacking asshat with 25APM, or you rush only to find they've suddenly, mysteriously and without any discernible provocation added a dozen cannons or sunks or that one clutch turret to block your lurkers or DTs or some shit, or...god...it goes on and on.
The thing that's rankling me the most right now is the multi-select hack...I got owned by early mass lings because of that shit three games in a fucking row...it's just...ugh.
I hope Blizz does a mass ban soon like they did for D2.
|
LOL GOD I WISH I SAVED THE REPLAY FOR THIS ONE...FUCK.
1v1 python...him Z, me P. I start at 7, he's at close position at 9.
I go to lay down pylon in nat, then I send probe to scout close position first...luckily, where he is. Suddenly I get an angry message from my opponent, "CHEATER!"
I scout him 4 pooling.
I immediately put down a pylon by my nex and pray my forge finishes on time...I get cannon down in mineral line, then hug it with probes. Cannon finishes.
He calls me a hacker and drops.

LastReplay or Autorep? ^^

My autorep doesn't work, and I played another game after it...T_T.

Havent played on bnet for like a year and i wont ever as long iccup is stilll runing and if iccup by any chance shut down i stop playing sc
|
Its a sad state of affairs, yes, it seems every game has hackers in it.
I would love to see a massive wave of permanent bans. It would be GREAT timing to do it before sc2 - to really send the right message.

Those guys are practicing for SC2 with multi building select and unlimited unit select. You just live in the past man.

Sounds like west is trying to one-up east. Not on my watch. + Show Spoiler +I make a joke to show how screwed you are
|
Lulz at Scout. Just play UMS on bnet. also, hackers tend to have discs but at a time like this where everyone is discing, its hard to tell if they are hackers or not.
|
Is there a hack to read your opponents /f m's? I swear i was playing 3v3 bgh with some friends and i messaged them to ban this one guy because i suspected him of hacking and ingame he asked "Why?". He didn't ban him and we ended up losing because he drop hacked one of us.

How many games did you play? Maybe you were unlucky... in $$$ games usually at least 1 person is hacking... it has been so since like 2004 and probably before too.
|
Back when I was a noob there was the mentality that if everyone is hacking, I obviously have to hack in order to keep the balance. So I used maphack for a while. Then once I started getting competitive and playing with friends who I knew didn't hack I turned them off. I'm sure this still plays a big role in people choosing to hack.

If the person drops, your ally gets dropped or you get dropped without the countdown, then it's fairly certain it's a hack. I don't consider nubs pulling their router cables hacking...just immature.

I DL'd BWHF instead, though...(:

the simplest solution is playing on iccup, especially if you can host your own games there are $$$ games from time to time too
edit: wrong thread sorry

First, I have to say that if what you say is true, then it seems like West is worse than East now. I've recently been playing a little on East for fun and it's not that common that I see someone that I know definitively is hacking. My proxies and hidden expos are rarely scouted or attacked before I manage to get them defended and my opponents often get caught blind sided by this little thing called macro.
I do, however, get accused of hacking a lot. A number of times I've had spider mines see my opponents make a move and I get called a hacker for responding to it. So... are you really sure that you are accusing everyone fairly?
By the way... what the fuck does APM have to do with hacking? -_-;;

By the way... what the fuck does APM have to do with hacking? -_-;; That night was an especially bad night. Since then it has returned to normal. I may have misjudged some of them, but that's likely only a couple games out of the many I played that night...like between 12 and 20, I don't remember. I know for a fact there were hacks being used on at least more than half of them.
I get accused of hacking now and then too...usually for multicommand or maphax. 50APM FMP players don't know what hotkeys are and can't fathom that we use observers or scans. -____-;;
And do you know what multicommand hack is? It's the one that allows them to command more than 12 units at a time. When you use that hack, your action count shoots up enormously. When you check the replay afterwards and see some guy who was playing with 50APM at the start suddenly shoot up to 300 or 600APM, then it's a clear sign they're using multicommand. Even progamers generally only peak that high for short periods of time. They generally don't STAY up past 500APM. -__________-;;
I'll look for a replay...
