Simply direct everyone who doesn't want spoilers to not visit Team Liquid until they've watched their vods.
It'd be far more honest than current policy.

In all honesty, I really don't understand why people who don't want to be spoiled go on TL. They know it's being talked about and they know that most people don't intentionally go out of their way to watch what they say in case they spoil something. It's just common sense. You don't want to get spoiled? Don't come on a website that dedicates their time to cover SC2 events

You don't want to get spoiled? Don't come on a website that dedicates their time to cover SC2 events Actually, I completely agree with you. But it seems + Show Spoiler + TL.net should just make their de facto policy their stated policy: do not visit the website if you don't want spoilers. The policy as it is, is flawed. Now, I'm sure the TL writers just accidentally forget to do whatever it is they need to do to not post spoilers on the front page now and again. + Show Spoiler + Actually, I don't think that's the case at all. At least some of the TL writers don't know or don't care about the website's stated-but-not-followed policy, making the "spoiler-free" check box a cruel joke at best. But pointing that out in simple language is not "polite," apparently. It's a minor issue to be sure, but telling people TL is going to do something and then not doing it - over and over again - is rude. TL;DR I'm not upset about being spoiled. I'm just trying to make TL.net a better place for its visitors.

Well, in point of fact, I suspect the overall efficacy of communication would decrease following an increase in the level of dissimulation, at least when engaging in this particular style of discourse. Would you prefer I said "TL.net does not follow its stated policy regarding spoilers"? 'Cause that's the same as calling the TL.net policy a lie. I'm not suggesting TL.net change its de facto policy, a change which is as undesirable as it is impractical. I'm simply suggesting TL.net admit to its de facto spoilers policy so that people who want to avoid spoilers don't have to learn the hard way that checking the 'no spoilers' option does not in fact lead to 'no spoilers.' If you don't want to be told TL.net doesn't follow its stated policy regarding spoilers, perhaps TL.net can change its policy to match up with reality.

To say they should remove the no spoiler option is a little unnecessary. Every little bit helps, maybe those users who aren't as incredibly worried about it appreciate the effort and are more grateful. Maybe you're being a little dramatic.

Check the box at the bottom left of the front page, "hide spoilers." This will hide the Featured News and Community News sidebars, as well as hide any titles with spoilers on the front page, whether in images or in the TL articles or the Community News and Headlines section. 2. Register an account and collapse the forums (typically SC2 and SC2 Tournaments) that will have spoilers in their thread titles. I am consistent about checking the 'hide spoilers' box, but TL will not make the default setting, so each time I delete cookies/clear history, the box unchecks. Today, I wake up excited to watch the finals of yesterday's MLG. My 'hide spoilers' box is checked. Too bad. I clicked though as fast as I could at work, but still saw the word champion under Seed's photo. To be clear, I am at work, on lunch and on my work PC. I do not bookmark personal websites on my work PC. No spoilers is always on and I take special efforts to avoid live report threads when checking in. I am not crushed, but it is a minor bummer. I have my "no spoiler box" checked but I am spoiled by the news results. Could TL look into this bug? I'm sure you'll have 100% more success.

I'm sure you'll have 100% more success. Had that been the problem, that's what I'd have done. That is not a problem for me, so I didn't write that post. And recent history has proven your belief unfounded. Not to mention I've already had every success I expected this thread to have. (Speaking of which, thanks Plexa)

Spoilers appear regardless of whether the no-spoiler option is checked on a regular basis. Therefore, suggesting there is such a thing as a no-spoiler option is pretty much lying. People who don't like spoilers often trust in this lie, and are thus, er... spoiled... more often than they would be if TL didn't pretend it had a no-spoiler option. Therefore it would be more polite and less rude of TL to not include an ineffective no-spoiler option Reading through your post, it is clear that you are an entitled person who feel that you can demand whatever you want and do it in an insulting manner. That post is not a one-off, your other posts in this thread are a similar vein. If you feel that you are not insulting (i.e. accusing people of lying) then maybe you should evaluate what kind of person you are. I'm 100% sure that the issue you are having is that there is a bug with the "no spoiler" functionality or the implementation has an error somewhere. This bug would be quite trivial to fix. If you had simply posted what I said and provided a screenshot detailing the error, I'm sure the TL website programmer (R1CH) can easily fix. You also accused TL writers who spent many hours writing reports of being dishonest: Actually, I don't think that's the case at all. Instead, you come in here and make an insulting and degratory post which in reality should get you nowhere.

You don't want to get spoiled? Don't come on a website that dedicates their time to cover SC2 events Well people don't come to TL only for SC2 these days, especially with it covering Dota 2 now, so having to drop out of discussions in General, Blogs and other sections just to prevent spoilers for the SC2 games they plan to watch doesn't seem like a very nice solution. I've personally had the "hide spoilers" button checked since it's creation but there definitely seems to be something preventing it from working the way it's intended. Whether it's buggy or the writing staff forgetting to tag their articles as spoilers I really have no idea but so many things slip through that it's just not effective.
