Not to mention one of those Ace wins was against Hasu. Now they're tied.

Ace's mistake was waiting too long with those voidrays, he should have cut probes and went for a 2 base timing rush when his +1 air and +1 ground weapons was finished. He got too greedy with the voidrays it seems, and Hasuobs was pre-emptively adding stalkers and blink in before he had even scouted the 2 stargates, probably assuming something was up

Hasu only had a few stalkers at that point. they were blink stalkers and one round of stalkers would have been enough, you have to charge the voids for them to be any good.

Hasu's supply was skyrocketing at the end and Ace's was staying around 140... and his money was so low. Seriously... he should have been warping in more units like mad. Voidrays are expensive and take a long time to build. also hasu had blink first, charge first was waaaay ahead in armour and weapons upgrades.
iirc Ace's macro will stutter at times, right?

Yeah, we need extended series.

It is pretty clear you don't know what a wild card is.

The Germans are coming! I think that Germany is the new Sweden in the starcraft universe, so many talented players.

Well the system helps to ensure that more qualified players don't get knocked out from being in tough divisions. If Hasu had a worse record and was still able to beat Ace, then that just suggests that Hasu had a harder division than Ace did.
Edit: Just realized they were in the same division! Well nevermind! /shrug

Aw what a let down. No interview.

Awwww no interview
Whatever, awesome game!

Great game by Hasu, his colossus retention was far more crucial than Ace's void retention. He kept chewing through expensive ground units at a faster rate and that cost efficiency won him the game I believe.

LOL so true. He won UGC, placed top 4 at TSL and won several online tournaments.
But he's still called an underdog, ridiculous.

This happens in other sports all the time when there's a play off system. It adds another element and gives the other players something to fight for. I like it. still... it basically says if you don't place top 2 in your group your score doesn't matter as long as you're not in the bottom 32. Usually the higher ranked teams get byes or something in the playoffs but ironically enough fenix didn't show up and hasuobs got the bye.

They could have edited out the bits about Hasu vs Fenix and the Hasu interview.
|
Wow, you'd think with having your team leader as one of the main guys running NASL, he'd know what time his play off match is lol.
|
If Fenix thought it was EST time, then he would have shown up EARLY and gotten message that it isn't for another 3 hours, not LATE. Clearly Fenix is lying and just ducking Hasu.
