Now, I love this community and SC2 and wanted to do something for SC2 and eSports, but we are currently so flooded with content that it can be overwhelming, not to mention how annoying it is to keep up with all of the major tourneys and player news. That being said, what I wanted to do, which I had not found existing yet, was a very quick, 2-3 minute daily update cast and blog with just the top stories from the day. I am thinking about it like the news updates or score updates at the top of the hour on sports radio stations.
So I came up with a new blog called "SC2 NewSCast" which does exactly what I was describing. I just started it the other day and still do not have everything worked out so it is still in like an alpha or beta format. Not to mention that I only have the blogs up so far and have not started with the pobcast quite yet but the seed is there. I want something simple, short, and to the point where you can subscribe to the RSS feed, each morning or whatever get onto your feeds and just listen or read and get a quick capture of scores and matches from the day before without having to flip through different forums.
Mind you, since it is a news-style there are spoilers and scores along with some suggested replays to watch and what is coming up for the next day in terms of tourneys and content shows like WOC and D9D.
So does anything like this exist so far? I know JP does the SC Center but that is more of a live live thing, somewhat longer format, and with some pics and vids as well. That is kind of where I got the idea to compress the information even more.
Right now I have the first couple of entries on a blogger site at http://sc2newscast.blogspot.com/, but if I get some decent feedback, and maybe even if not, I will add the podcast as well as better domain hosting (I just secured sc2newscast.com for it) and all that jazz. If you look at the first couple of posts these are the preliminary style of posts. I want to add in more tournament news and more player news as well, but like I said, the goal is to keep it short. I wrote it down like I would be speaking it, but quickly, breezing from one point to the next.
It is fine if you hate it and find it pointless, but I hope someone will enjoy the idea. Any other ideas, feel free to kick them down.
