I mostly just play piano and guitar, so a lot of my songs are extremely basic, with a huge emphasis on the lyrics.
Anyway, here's a link to listen to my music. Tell me what you think!

And here are descriptions (ty infinitestory) of each of the songs.
Fiddler
Lyrics
+ Show Spoiler +
You stopped and stared, kissed me on the cheek
I could not dare to try to even speak
And I only care for you, do you only care for me?
Are you too scared to tell me where you've been?
These past few weeks my darling, have you sinned?
And I still care for you, do you still care for me?
I drank too much, showed you what I had to say
I talk too much, but don't regret a damn thing
And I could care for you if you could care for me
If I walked away, would you dare to even speak?
Tell me today, or maybe next week
If God exists, then maybe someone could answer questions for me
But I guess I could definitely see that's how things just might be
This song is about a girl who just stopped talking to me for no reason. We were actually... a thing? and she just decided instead of facing the situation, to just ignore it. It was really annoying, and so this song came to be. The reason the song's name is Fiddler is because while I was writing the song on the piano, my mom commented that it sounded like "If I were a rich man" from the musical Fiddler on the Roof.

The name actually fits your description very nicely, I think. It sounds like she was fiddling (in the sense of "playing around") with your emotions. In a different vein, "decid[ing,] instead of facing the situation, to just ignore it" is pretty much the definition of "fiddling while Rome burns".

Not intended, but I thought it was interesting none the less.
Riddles and Rhymes
Lyrics
+ Show Spoiler +
His eyes were open wide when he first saw her smile
Gazed upon the after glow that kept him for awhile
There sunk beneath his skin was the aching to begin
Even with his head upon his shoulders, he might still give in
So she whispers in his ear," I could poison you my dear,
If you're not too careful with what you say, it may not come out clear
Cause you've been hiding all along behind the words of your songs
To hell with the riddles and rhymes, does it matter who was wrong?"
With tongue-in-cheek he says "It doesn't matter who's the best
As long as I'm the only one who wears and adorns your sacred crest
I'll try to understand, try to show you I'm a man
But if all else fails and I've done my worst, can I count your helping hand?
Cause Darling, I am scared; I don't know if you're prepared
to meet the madness in my soul to which I am it's pair
It's darkness embodies me, gives me the reason to believe
That there's no use in holding back, I can be the one you need."
Is tonight the night you decide where you curse me for everything?
If you decide tonight's the night where you'll give up for anything
And I can't keep up with your silence, it's killing me
And I can't keep up with your terms, defeating me.
And I can't keep up with the way you're kissing me, caressing me.
And I can't keep up with your words, demeaning me, and leaving me behind.
Where does this story end? Do they ever make amends?
Will they ever see the messages to each other sent?
A promise to the heart, wherever the road parts
You must lead yourself through the path, true love is not too far
This song is weird for me. It's hard to describe, because it has both elements of pessimism and optimism. That's why I like it though, because the lyrics could easily go both ways, and even the end of the song makes it feel like something good could still come of what happened. The song's name "Riddles and Rhymes" is a description of me writing music instead of telling her how I feel.
Whispers in the Wind
Lyrics
+ Show Spoiler +
Whispers in the wind; I have heard them call my name
Asking where I've been, but I'm ashamed to say
I've always been afraid, but that's no way to act
The lady needs a man so give her up or go back
Silence in the crowd as I play her song
Hearing my heart out loud, they begin to sing along
"We're never perfect and we will never be,
but who have us can say that it's your destiny?"
Fire in my head, oh she burns me down
"Forgive me for what I've said" plead the ashes on the ground
Into the earth I recede to make amends
With the poison of ambiguity that calls my ends
Whispers in the wind....
This song is... about the same girl. When I started writing this, it was right when her and I started to talk a lot more after all the shit went down. This song is about how I thought I wasn't manning up, and making her mine. I was too scared to make any moves for some reason. I also said some shit to her that kind of pissed her off... hence the last part of the song "Forgive me for what I've said"
