At one point in the game, the ball was kicked past the goal and up a hill, to where a man, around his mid-thirties, was standing with his child. A little sheepishly, with a grin on his face, he ran to kick the ball to the goalie so that she could kick the goal kick.
What struck me here was that smile. It seemed like it was something he hadn't done in a long time, but the kid in him wanted to be playing on the field, just like his little girl. While this guy might have just been kicking the ball, and that smile may not have meant a thing, it nonetheless got me thinking, "How much fun is this guy having in his life?" I wondered how many other people were like him, caught up in the seriousness of life, not taking any time to just have fun.
So I say to you, if you're going through the motions every day, think what a little bit of time spent playing a game, or that instrument you haven't played for years, or whatever fun thing you like to do could do for you. Don't take life so seriously that you forget how to enjoy yourself and have that little bit of fun!
