For Artosis he is here because people like to see him here, it's nice to see him playing even if he's not at the top level at all, it reminds me of games with Day9 playing tourneys during beta Sheth doesn't like Terran at all from what I gather, but I don't think he has a problem with the rest of the team. I don't think he likes the company itself however, which is understandable, because they basically are scamming people.... But they support ESPORTS!
Terran's been deliberately sniping Sheth on ladder, and then bunker rushing and BM'ing--on Sheth's stream.

how could anyone BM sheth? he's like the nicest guy ever haha
what a douche that sixjaxterran guy is. sixjax as a team doesn't seem to be going anywhere...

NASL's responsibility is to the viewers and its customers. if Artosis does not perform well enough, it is up to NASL whether they consider Artosis a valid candidate to be invited to NASL Season 2 (btw I have no idea how NASL S2's selection process will be determined).
edit: ah I got beat No, Artosis' responsibility is to himself. Sure it was an invite based on potential rather than actual ability, but once that invite is given out, he no longer has to answer to the NASL regarding his credibility to be in the league. His only responsibility is to himself, in that he should train and try to get better in order to succeed in the thing he is trying to succeed at. I don't know Artosis personally, but anyone who has spent 5 minutes on this site knows that if anyone has a ridiculous burning desire for competition in this game, it is him. players have to give NASL a $250 security deposit in order to participate if they want their $250 back and not experience any deductions, they have a responsibility to NASL to maintain in terms of conduct and participation.
Yes I agree. That is contractual and no one can really argue that. No where in their contract did it say "become really good and you must build nukes/nydus/mothership". Thats the part I'm trying to get at. The NBA players don't have a responsibility to the NBA to play "well". They have to abide by their contract and by the league's rules. These rules don't dictate the skill level required to be in the game, only that they are fair and there is no cheating or what not. In this way, it is up to the NBA to make sure the game is entertaining for the fans and they do this in a variety of ways so that the competitive spirit of the game isn't lost. (Doing things like adding a 3 point line, or letting DWade/Lebron get ghost files lololol).
In making this analogy, I actually thought of something. I guess the players would have to answer to their teams and sponsors if they are playing poorly (again, depends on the team. Some are about results, others are about other things). If you were to say that he has a responsibility to SixJax to play well, then I guess I could buy that. Even then though, he is more of a manager/coach than a player for SixJax, or thats what i feels like.

I'm sure Artosis is working pretty hard given the limited time he has, no need to rag on him. He's a great player and a great guy. Give him some time ``

People now shitting on Artosis and NASL? I think people are truly hating on NASL just to hate at this point.. taking jabs and calling out Artosis? ARTOSIS? This guy has done more for Starcraft than any other nerd and people want to talk shit because he's lost to 3 amazing players? What the hell...
<3 Artosis, I look forward to ALL of your games.

No one is shitting on the NASL in this discussion. We are simply expressing disappointment that Artosis is in the league given his level of play. I love the NASL and i watch most the games. It can still simultaneously be disappointing in one small aspect.

I think that's silly. With all the problems NASL had at launch, I was a vocal about these issues. I criticized the NASL a lot, but this criticism I can't get behind. It's absurd to me anyone could criticize them for inviting a legend of Starcraft to participate in their opening season. They've made it clear this is going to be the only invite only season and also made it clear they would be doing invites for a variety of reasons outside physical skill. Hence why they had application videos to show personality so viewers and NASL admins could get to know the players more personally. Artosis would fall into the 'other' category. While I think he does have pretty damn good skill he was mostly invited because hes such a prominent community figure that will add excitement and drama.

Moral of the story? People will complain about anything and everything. That's their right, but it sure must suck to go through life so dissatisfied.

You realize that Artosis was chosen as a community favorite. It's pretty sad to see the same community that wanted him in the league is now ragging on him being in the league, since the reason he was chosen was because we knew people loved him as much as we do.

Please don't let the vocal minority left over in this thread give you the wrong impression. Just because they are the loudest does not mean they are correct, or represent the majority view. People were just frustrated - that's all. He is an asset to the league.

I love the NASL for this decision. I get so hyped for Artosis and Grubby games (they would likely fall into the same invite category). So thank you for including them in your league.

THISTHISTHIS
Artosis is literally the coolest, most awesome person in the world, and I'll watch his matches with more excitement than 80%+ of the players in NASL, even if he isn't the best.

Artosis is one of the main reasons I watch NASL on wednesday. And while I do realize he will have a hard time winning one of his matches, I can't wait to cheer for him when he finally does manage to win.
And yes, as a matter of fact, that's my first post. <3
