However, MC used an account named "BlizzardEventA" in Copenhagen games. Does this not mean that he doesn't have a EU account? On the other hand, his name was OGSMc in his games vs. Thorzain.
Any ideas?

Regardless, this is an entirely unwarranted potshot at Day9. Seriously? Does that mean that ANY time Day9 is happy about someone winning, it's because he has jealousy issues? You do realize that he has the choice between spending time giving his daily versus spending time training in SC2, and that his choice is to do something he enjoys and loves. Obviously you've never seen Daily 100, because his dream is about making e-sports thrive, not about being the best pro-gamer himself. There are a million different reasons for why he could have made that statement. For instance, the sheer joy of seeing the underdog win. I know that in the beta, I always saw Idra as the big bad boss guy who never lost, which made it epic when someone like QXC could win (crazy cheese banshees in Desert Oasis, oh the memories ). Or, maybe he just likes seeing foreigners being able to beat the best among Koreans, a true globalizatio nof the e-sports scene. Maybe he just made a bet with a friend. Maybe he was a training partner with Thorzain and is just happy that those builds and that training for Thorzain paid off. The point is, of course, not that any of the above statements themselves are asserted as fact, but the fact that it is ridiculous to make that wild claim that that particularly odd assumption would be the case. In any case, that was an extremely good set between the two. Fanboys should tone down the heat, because no matter, the only thing that could be said was that both played well in that set, and Thorzain just got the better of this game. Qualitatively its too subjective and difficult to judge whether one or the other can truly be "better" unless you have huge amounts of foresight and past data that can also directly compare the two..

oh yeah, most can't even get past code A RO32 when they're seeded. i honestly think its silly.. when people try to talk down MC they refer to single sets and online shit. do you really think he studied thorzain as much as thorzain studied him? like, cool, foreigners can compete with koreans, which is why someone like thorzain, who after doubtless countless hours of practicing to face MC, was able to beat him in an online tournament. this is getting way too blown out of proportion. all it does is prove that thorzain is worthy to compete. gratz, now go send him to GSL and we'll give him the real test.

Day9 is happy that someone lost, according to previous poster, yet you've repositioned the statement into being "Day9 is happy someone winning". Perhaps in SC2 there really isn't much room for skill & mechanics to set those that play a lot apart from one another. Because the most important thing in ThorZain excelling in GSL will be that some guy on a forum will eat his words. Come on. The man has a point. He has proven he can stand up to the best. However, from that to being able to live & get good results in KR is a huge step. He would have to place top8 in gsl to get enough money for the whole thing to be worth it, or be sponsored by a good team. (accomodations, etc.). You can't just "send someone to GSL" as if it's across the street. I'm sure that through tournaments like this, real good players can OPEN DOORS to better things. So if he does make it to Koreea, and does well there, we should thank TL, and not give a fk about anyone who said mean things about him after the game vs MC. Think positive ppl, don't argue about pointless things. It's just one match out of one thousand needed to prove you have what it takes.

Because the players who got seeded in were Hapro and Huk, neither of whom have been putting up results in foreigner tournaments, either. Oh, and Huk made it to Code S. He had a pretty easy path to get there, but he did make it. Ret earned his way into Code A, and did pretty well for a while. IdrA and Jinro, obviously, both did well in the GSL, in Code S. Put Naniwa, Kiwikaki, or SeleCT into GSL, and they'd probably do quite well.

Day9 just sounded like he was happy MC LOST, regardless of who he was playing against. I would appreciate you not putting words in my mouth. Thanks. Nice of you to bring up reading comprehension when you're still not answering a word I've said that still applies the exact same way. In fact, literally every example I've used still applies. IE, look at IdrA, as said before I was certainly happy that IdrA lost because he was the big "bad guy"/robot macro player. Or perhaps how he was one of the top Koreans, and he's happy that he lost as a sign that there's no unreachable skill gap, perhaps a globalization of e-sports. Or even the possibility of a bet. But beyond all of that, none of that even mattered, as you can refer to the concluding statement of my post: "The point is, of course, not that any of the above statements themselves are asserted as fact, but the fact that it is ridiculous to make that wild claim that that particularly odd assumption would be the case." No matter what the examples were about even if you were to construe them solely as based upon someone "winning," there's still the obvious truth that you're making this blatant assumption about his intent that is absolutely unwarranted and speculative. I mean sure, it's not illegal or anything prohibited outright, but when you're taking potshots at someone, as I said it just looks asinine. As a final note, I'm glad you also ignored my statement about how your assumption about the intent is also probably wrong [ie, his dream is about a job advancing e-sports in general, not about being a pro-gamer himself. In comparison, your only justification for his "jealousy" is the way he worded a single phrase. I mean, surely such a phrase would be followed by discussion elaborating how he feels, and if he did display such jealousy then you easily could have remembered more substantive reasons for why he "seems jealous of MC." Otherwise, it seems more that an odd phrasing was an odd phrasing, rather than being secret demons biding their time in dark brooding schemes.

and now Copenhagen That doesn't take anything away from Thorzain, it only makes him look better for beating MC. But if he loses in the next round, and given his TvT stats vs Kas it looks likely, that'll be that. The winner of TSL3 will probably be more deserving of "one of the world's absolute best" honors more than someone who took out MC but lost in RO4. For the record, I'd like to see Thorzain take this whole thing given who's left and the fact that he's pretty fun to watch and I can learn from him.

As for the coming games vs Kas, after watching Kas's games vs Nada I don't think he is currently beatable in TvT. He is just too beastly at defense and macro, too experienced to lose vs timing pushes or cheese, too map aware and pretty much impossible to contain. I hope Thorzain does well so we get to see some awesome games, but Kas is absolutely shit-your-pants scary.
