They do all advance I believe. Doesn't this just determine where the fall in the bracket later on against the rest of the players?

A & B are so good compared to C & D :[

GL HF all! He just secured #24 at the worst out of 272 players instead of having to go through a bajillion Bo3s to get a whiff of the top 32. Yeah, pretty sure that's correct.

I think the players are named after the accounts they play on, and Socke plays as Sockeh on the US servers. At least thats the name he had in the recent Justin.tv tournament on the US servers (which he won, ofc).
Yup, it's either the NA B.Net account or their MLG account I think...
And iirc Socke went with Sockeh to help those silly americans because they can't pronounce Socke correctly
edit: ALL the players have chances on winning the whole thing even if they finish 4th in their group

Most of the 2nd day I think non seeded players will have the best chance to get streamed. there's like 6-7 hours of open bracket action without any pool play.

Imagine you're a player who just spent all of Friday evening and all of Saturday playing constant bo3's to advance to the top 4 of the open tournament (That's winning 6 bo3's total) and then having to face a group of fresh players who have already been proven to be amazing at the game on Saturday night. They're well rested, they're only playing 1 bo3 and it's against you! You could have just busted your ass night and day to play a bo3 against IdrA, Socke, KiWiKaKi, and Gretorp, guys who have just been waiting to see who is unlucky enough to slip into their group of death. That's harsh.

thats why they call it halo...erm wait.
i used to play halo 2 to a semi competitive level, met the ogres on ladder a few times. and i can tell you now that playing 20+ games of halo is not tiring. on the purely mental side of things, although during combat you are thinking a mile a minute you actually do get some mental "breaks" of up to 20 seconds every couple of minutes; makes a huge difference to your stamina.
even the idea of playing 20+ back to back starcraft 2 games makes me feel tired.

disagree josh, the guys who played in the open bracket will be warmed up, where as I will not have played any games in the last 3 days ;D
|
All these groups look so good! 2011 is a great year for starcraft and hopefully it will only get better!

Oh wow.. Imagine the guy qualifying from the open tournament only to get put into group A or B... lol

Congratulations - Now lose.

Group A: IdrA Socke
Group B:
Ret SjoW
Group C:
TLO Slush
Group D:
Tyler Machine
I think group a and b are incredibly strong. I feel SjoW has good chances to advance since his tvt was always very very good.
