VARNING! GSL MARCH 2011 SPOILERS!
GSL has kicked off with the round of 32 and man what a surprising turn of events. Group A also known as the group of death featuring two champions MC and MVP and two great players in July and Hyperdub turned out to be the brawl we expected it to be. In my previous blogI predicted that MC and MVP would probably go forth to the round of 16 and I also thought that July might have a shot to advance, but not a big one. To my surprise, July actually 2-0 the reigning champion MVP! How would have thought that? Sure, that he would put up a fight yes, but actually beat MVP two in a row?
The last game I practically screamed when MVP lifted up his buildings just as July came rushing up the ramp with speedlings and banelings. That must have been one of the most unlucky timings that I have seen in the GSL. But here we are, MVP is in the up and down bracket alongside with Hyperdub who had no real chance this time around. MC dominated as usual while July brings down the champion in nothing but an upset. Congratulations to July.
In group B we also had a surprise with Idra announcing last week that he is pulling out of the GSL to head back home to USA. Thus Clide got a free win in his match. Zenio vs Byun was a sick 40+ min game which was eventually won by Byun so he advanced with only one match played since he would meet Idra next and thus win by default. Zenio was now forced to meet Clide and against my prediction loosed to Clide. So my predictions for group B was totally shoot down by Idra leaving and Clide actually getting the best of Zenio who I thought would advance.
Circumstances or not, I only predicted 25% right on the first code S matches which is funny, but that is life I guess. I hope my next predictions will go well were I have predicted that Liquid`Jinro and CheckPrime.WE will advance in group C and TOP and NaDa will advance in group D.

You're predicting that Check will advance over Rainbow? Good luck with that one.

See my reasoning in my previous blog. It's sort of a gamble, but I think he might take it.

Rainbow's been pretty weak lately, I think his predictions could be pretty accurate :D

July is such a baller.

As a Zerg player I am really happy that July advanced, but I never thought in a million years that he would beat MVP 2 - 0. I was pretty sure he would put up a good fight, perhaps if he was lucky to take one match from someone, but even that was wishing for things and then he brings the heat and puts the hurt on. I bow down to that Zerg player.

MVP looked as crushed as MKP looks during some of his losses . I'm a zerg player through and through, but even I had a tear forming in my eye (but it never came out )

I'm pretty sure he landed before any lings got in. July would have won either way.

yeah but I think rainbow is something like 10000000000000000000000-0 vs checkprime. He knocked him out in the ro16 in both gsl 1 and 2. mind games

MVP vs July was unexpected, but no one can blame mvp for losing, it was a very unexpected strategy.
Byun vs Zenio was bullshit. Zenio showcased far more skill yet loses. Byuns turtling passive play style is horrible, the game was over 40 minutes long but by far the most boring game I have ever watched.

Regarding Check now when we know the result well...I don't want to say I told you so, but.... I am really happy for Check, he deserved to go to the R16.
