I decided to play tonight until I got to 10 wins with random. I've played 19 games now and I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with the mechanics. Namely the bonus booster (Mules/scans, Larva inject, chrono boost).
I think I've decided that I don't want to play terran (although I haven't completely ruled it out). I'm going to alternate games with P and Z for a while I think. I really like P, but I haven't gotten as many games with Z as I'd like (or any of them I guess). I've been mostly matched up with silver/gold users.
I guess it doesn't matter if I get promoted since it doesn't affect the level of competition I get, but I'm looking forward to it a little. Now that I'm a little familiar with the game I'm going to watch a few replays. I've downloaded the MLG dallas packs as a starting point.

Watching streams helps out a little bit. The ones that analyze/talk a lot give out small details that really help your game out.

Good to hear you're having fun mate, keep up the good work. I guess I just chose Terran because I played Terran in Brood War, I'm simple like that. Zerg switch is on the cards for me but, hopefully.

i think it's great for anyone to play random from time to time. I basically just use my NA account to random around when I need a break.
Don't be in a rush to choose one race. Enjoy the game a bit first!

It's definitely fun to play around with all the races, but it's too hard to learn so many at once, at least for me.
