Kinda disappointed with only a promotion to silver, it'll make my climb to diamond a lot slower . I ended up in Bronze since I got Sc2 for xmas, played like 3 missions in the campaign, and then jumped straight in to multiplayer XD.
I only decided to finally be terran this Tuesday, I initially was undecided [I random'd in the beta but still couldn't decide which race I liked best], but after playing terran so much in 2v2s with my friend [he insisted that I T with his P], decided to stick with it. Lost only 1 game after sticking with terran, against a gold zerg, I just played so terribly and screwed everything up haha, forgot to research stim, forgot siege, etc...
I guess it isn't surprising, I only have 20 game stotal [13 wins 7 losses], although the last 5 opponents were gold cept the last one I beat, which was a platinum.
Oh well, guess I just gotta win s'more to get that shiny lil diamond

My team doesn't mind helping you improve to move up from silver. I am Terran and we have another good Terran as well. We helped get a local friend from bronze to platinum in about 3 weeks.

Keep fighting bro. You can definitely make it into platinum. It took me about 60 games to get to Plat from silver (original placement), but it's definitely doable. If you need someone to help observe you playing games, then I can give a hand as well. (Only Platinum though, so I might not be the best person to be giving advice)

Im guessing sc2 players below diamond has gotten alot better, i remember when game just released all you needed to go straight into diamond was some previous broodwar experience

WHen I first read the title I thought you tried to say "Demoted to silver ;(". Hahaha~
Well, all I can say is one step at a time.

Nothing wrong with being in a league where you belong, skillwise. Keep playin, get better, you'll move up

The thing is a lot of people of people play against plat/gold players in the lower leagues, but that is one player. I was in bronze and would custom against plat players and win easily, I thought I should be low diamond/high plat, but once you get promoted to silver and start playing gold regularly it can be quite hard to win consistently. Don't get ahead of your self and overestimate your skill. 1 league at a time will make you a better player than going from bronze to plat straight up, and it will also be friendly on your win/loss ratio. Just remember the game is for fun and playing against better players and losing a lot is not fun.

You're disappointed you're only in silver? And you just got the game for Christmas?!
My life is meaningless D:

13 wins, 7 losses is a great record for any player, especially on a matchmaking system that works hard against to to ensure a 50% win ratio. And to be promoted to silver in only 20 games? That is quite an accomplishment.
Keep working hard on improving whatever you need to improve. Never give. Never surrender.
