Yes, you read that correctly, I am a noob, and I'm damn proud of that fact. My plan for this blog is for it to be a chronicle of my laddering on bnet 2, my random musings, my frustrations etc etc. I have been a longtime lurker on TL, only registered a few months ago before SC2 was released and feel that its my time to step up and add in my zany thoughts for everyone elses enjoyment.
A little about me:
Currently, I am a firefighter/EMT, halfway finished with paramedic school and working part time for a large private ambulance service here in Dallas, TX. I have been playing SC since 2000, off and on, mostly UMS, and NR 20 games. I have a lot of memories from my days playing on bnet, playing with the guys from Clan X21, being terrible at the game and just enjoying the ride. I moved into competitive gaming for other games and my ties to SC faded into the past, playing only occasionally, but still watching the korean games because well, who doesn't love the scream of GeeeeGeeeeeeee from the korean commentators?
Anyway, enough about me personally, lets move on to SC2. I am currently a terrible bronze player, despite having played at the highest level for counter-strike 1.6 and source. I am division rank 21 in my bronze league with 328 points and a woeful 11-13 record (but im platinum in 4v4! :D ). My only wins coming from just out-macroing my opponent or doing cheese. I watch the day[9] daily as well as streams and live matches. I write down BO's in my little notebook as well as notes to myself about things I need to practice on while watching my replays. As it stands my APM averages around 60-80, this is something I feel will improve as I get better. My macro is ok early/mid game and pretty decent late game. I need to work on my mechanics a lot, I get tunnel visioned too easily, and I am constantly practicing my micro and positioning. Its going to be a long journey to diamond, but it should be fun. With that, I am ready to start the climb up the ladders, hoping to break the top 200 sometime next year. So, jump in, hang on and enjoy the ride, it will be a little bumpy to start, with big ups and downs, and a (hopefully) amazing ending.
