hey zomax,
i really enjoyed the stream since it started, kinda fcked up it didnt last everytime but that can happen right? while watching it felt like the lesson really helped you out, maybe not in those games there but like incontrol said, you will probably understand pvz better the upcomming weeks. thnx for streaming m8.

Thank you both greatly for the opportunity to listen to a top-tier player's thoughts, very insightful.
I strongly believe mods should relax just a tad, based on the original location of the thread was the reason I found it (along with majority of the viewers).

Thanks for stopping by I have scheduled a follow up on the 27th same time.
Hopefully Ill be owning him!

and ye, i would have missed it 100% if it was listed on streams, one can't really check the crazy amount of random streams all the time hoping to catch this kind of very rare community service content that isn't categorizable as an event per se, so while i totally agree with chill's point, i think there have to be some allowances made for this type of content if the context allows for it, aka acceptable deviations from the set rules
But if the OP had used the calendar for his special event, then everyone would have seen it and the event would have had a link on every single TL page for the duration of the event. Nobody would have to "click every random stream".
There is a reason a system is in place. This isn't a mod power trip, or people trying to make things difficult for others. We have over a thousand streams on TL. Everybody is happy when one stream makes one thread, but nobody is happy is 100 people make threads about what they are streaming.
Regardless, I am glad the event was a success, and OP, PM me prior to your next event to get added to the calendar.

I should have more diplomatically handled this by PM'ing chill so just know that was bad on my part but I was in the midst of a session.
Personally I 100% agree/understand why and where this gets out of hand. People too often advertise streams or "hey I am doing X on my stream now" and that is bad. However if someone is doing an educational stream free and open to everyone I really think allowances should be made. That's the kind of stuff this community (any community) should encourage with open arms not run through the rigors of moderation and be like "well we don't really like X cause in the past we had Y" etc..
If it gets out of hand obviously it's bad but with all things considered do we really need to hide free lesson streams?
PS: given Mani's post above I need to clarify that I agree and think this should have been organized better but it isn't like it's well known that it coulda been added to the tracker. So I think in this case it would have been nice if that was clarified and implemented in the future as opposed to "this isn't twitter" and closed.

Thanks for posting this (and for letting him post it iNcontroL). It's making me consider seeing about grabbing a lesson or two after the reset. Just having someone force you to do something that you know you should do but never remember to seems worth it. I can watch plenty of my replays and critique myself but I never seem to build good habits that way. The way iNcontroL reminded him to have his units moving... after 2 hours of hearing that I bet it would sink in for many people.

To summarize, all I ask is that this guy follows the procedures in place. Not (entirely) because I'm anal, but because when you have thousands of threads opening per day, shit gets out of control FAST.
He should have a thread associated with his stream - this would serve as the discussion avenue for the stream.
He should have this event on the calendar. A search shows this can easily be done by PMing Brood your information - this would serve as the promotion avenue for the stream.
In the end, everything would have been much more tidy AND more people would have seen it.
To the guy who said "we can discuss a Korean nickname but can't get a stream promoted" - that's a completely unfair comment. Neither I, nor any staff on TL moderate TL 24/7. Referencing a one-off bad thread that hasn't yet been dealt with as a basis for complaining about moderation is unnaceptable in my eyes.

Chill, My decision to stream this was a last minute deal. I didn't know you guys had a rule for this I only learned how to Stream 2 days prior. I also would have thought that the Calendar was for more specialized and recurring events.
Regardless, I waited 2 months before posting anything on these forums for fear of attracting the ban hammer of doom. You guys have great content. I wanted to contribute.
I originally posted in wrong area and asked to have moved to what I thought was correct. Im trying to follow the rules but they are quite daunting and seemingly subjective.
Regardless of how poorly it was organized, the next one Ill try to communicate more clearly next time.

i missed it, will there be vod?

I really enjoyed that, it was very informative. Thanks to Incontrol and Zomax! If you start giving lessons on the EU server any time soon I'll definitely consider getting some.
Also, yay; I'm free again! ^__^

I got so much out of this! When I feel like I am at a level enough to benefit from such high level coaching I will definitely seek it out.
It seems like Zomax is struggling with the same stuff I am, once those Mutas get a little out of control there seems to be no coming back. I hope a lot of Protoss players see this, it shows so clearly how Protoss players can get back in the game and be able to contest the zerg player.
All the little things iNcontrol mentioned that Zomax do in the first game once the toss is under fire add up and make those muta pokes not as catastrophic as they can be.
Hope to see some more Toss lesson Vods from you Zomax, this was extremely educational.
