You're right, IdrA had some pretty rancid BO going at MLG <chuckles>
<giggles some more>
...<realizes it was never funny>
Really though, holy amazing build order, IdrA. It works so freaking well, and sets you up in a great shape against everything.
I have him on my friends list to check his games, I realized that zerg's building food count is always 1 drone off of where it when you build stuff. My bad for 13 hatch/13 pooling

I saw this one on LT, very consistent indeed.

words can not describe how good this BO is. Idra is a genius!:D

oh and im fairly sure ur BO is off ur queen supply actually counts queens in production.
|
Thank you! i was actually going to do this myself but you did all the work for me

9 Overlord 14 Hatch (send 14th drone to nat) 14 Pool 16 Gas (scout! He ends up scouting terran going factory) 16 Overlord Just before pool finishes, he maynards 3 drones to natural 17 (Overlord pops) Queen 19 2 zerglings 20 Next queen 25 Zergling speed *First queen pops and uses creep tumor at main + builds overlord* 27 *Second queen pops and uses creep tumor at expo* (this extra creep tumor he uses to cover the ledge on LT, later on he has a overlord spew on the ledge and makes another tumor up there, very clever) 28 spine crawler 29 Lair 32 2x gas + 2x spine crawlers (The extra crawlers are because he scouts the fac+reactor upgrading, fearing tank drop, these spines will delay until he gets mutas) 37 Lair comes up - spire goes down
What is really interesting to note is how many terran builds this safely responds to after scouting factory/reactor. If those banshees beelined for idras main, and were even out a little earlier, idra's mutas would be out after the queen skirmishes with the first banshee for a second. (if it had been a cloak variant, I think the timing would have been different, and idra's response would have been different, but he morphed an overseer regardless) If that was siege upgrading, I think that medivac + 2 tanks on the ledge would not have been able to kill the spine in time to do real damage before mutas popped. Hellion breaks take alot of damage from that spine placement, and that one spine to the side prevents them from bunkering behind the nat. And imagine a terran not putting pressure on that by going straight up into 2 base mech. Idra was already ploppin a third by 11:00, after all the pressure avilo applied. Terran seems likes its going to have to play really smart if they want to go fast fac/reactor vs idra.

How is it off? I can just adjust it.

Great job ! im still giggling so hard ! :D thats great !

Hmmm... I noticed you can't get to 37 supply with only 3 overlords. Looked back at the replay, Idra builds another overlord at 32 supply after the 2 extractors. Might want to add that in.

You are welcome! .

Honestly, I clicked on this blog thinking you were complaining about Idra's Body odour. Weird :X

cant wait to try this!
think im gonna start doing this vs Terran, and the 3-hatch muta ling build vs Protoss.
muta ling all the way!

I found out that by going 14 hatch over 15 hatch, you get your expansion up 5 seconds sooner. I doubt this makes a big deal, and I would advise going 15 hatch as you get that extra drone mining. But its really up to you.

Thanks for this thread. Im sure I will start to see this in ladder against me since i play Terran.

I've been using this pretty much the whole day today while laddering (mid diamond) and it's really effective. Most games I don't get that many spines though, as I think he mainly got them because he scouted factory and wanted to defend against a tank drop. Also I only spread creap with one queen. I think the reason for Idra spreading creep with his second queen was only to be able to burrow that spine crawler near the cliff.
Overall the BO is really effective, and I'm able to get out my Mutas a lot faster than before. It also opens up for a pretty quick third. This is now my standard ZvT opening.
Thanks for making the thread and showing this awesome build!

This BO rules! Using it every game vs them T-balls

Rather than looking at his build order, pay attention to what he wants his base to look like at a certain point in time. This allows him to do slight deviations to hold off any type of all-in or various builds they might throw at him. The mutalisks allow him to stop and usually end the game when the terran goes banshee harrase, not to mention adding serious pressure to any T that fast expands, which in turn allows him to expo again and continue to pump drones. This build is the accumulation of 100's of games. Gratz on the solidness Idra
