Well I woke up today and was pumped for the Craft Cup tourney but when I opened my browser (TL is my home page :-P) I saw the TL Open was today. I decided to sign up in hopes to play with some great people. Well needless to say I lost in the first round and was out of the tourney. Ha, whoops guess it was back to getting pumped for the Craft Cup.
My expectations weren't too high since most of the other small tourneys I get into I maybe make it to the RO32 but nothing special. This tourney though I won my first 5 games and got into the final 8! Man I was so stoked especially since my last game before the BO3 grid matches started was casted by GLHF.tv. I was so pumped that people were actually watching me play a game and a game I won for that matter! The sheer excitement of knowing I was being commentated about made me so much more focused in the game and I think it kept me on edge!
Anyway my RO8 opponent was DdoRo, a 2100+ rated player. Man, when I saw he was ranked 6th on the global ladder I wasn't as much disappointed but excited. It was really great to play against someone who obviously had great game play and experience with the game. I don't think it's a surprised I got 2-0'd easily but man he was good it was fun.
Anyway I had a blast and got my first real taste of tourneys and man I can't wait to practice even more than I do now and try to get my name out there. Thanks to all the tourney admins and my opponents today, it really was the most exciting day in my early Starcraft 2 career and hopefully many more to come!

Nice! I made ro32 today. Lost to a protoss (of course) one round shy of the bo3 stage. So annoying!
Did you feel nervous/shaky hands when you got into the ro16/ro8?
I've gotten better the more tournaments I've played to not get as scared and jittery but there's always a sense of excitement there. It's up to the player to channel that energy into better play or have a nervous meltdown.

Honestly I didn't feel that nervous at all until my big push came in the game that was being casted. My heart was racing a mile a minute when I was pushing his base because I knew a lot of people were probably watching. It was really intense!

Heh, i was knocked out of the first round of the TL open too. Guess its more of an elite tourney, even though it is "open"
Suprisingly though, silver also got knocked out first round.

Hm it seems like you have a very good attitude about all this. I think if you keep at it you will be very successful in the long run.
