Didn't know where to put this so I put it in blogs.
For the past 24 hours my left wrist has been a little bit numb and stiff. I thought it was nothing and then I waked up with it. Today I was playing and my wrist became even more stiff and weird feeling and had a bit of a tingly feeling. I am wondering if this is possibly carpal tunnel?
I play SC2 a shitton every day with about 140 apm (180 real time?). Is it possible that I have developed some carpal tunnel issue? and should I see a doctor for it asap or wait and see if it gets better. Thanks

sounds like carpal tunnel i think, but only a doctor will tell you what you have

I know what u mean, but i thought with carpal tunnel ur suppose to feel ur wrist has no strength and pain. Its best to see a doctor. You know, serious carpal tunnel is really painful and at times may need operations, its best to prevent it from being serious.

I had the same thing happen and I thought I was screwed, then it got better. I realized that I actually hurt it when I tried to unscrew the large canister of liquid nitrogen in lab. I grabbed the valve so hard and tried to turn it with such force that I actually hurt my hand for a few days.
Have you done anything similar to that? Were you working on your car or something and grabbed a wrench really hard?

Wow. That really might be it. This door has it's lock pretty much stuck and I had to use all my strength at a weird angle to fix it.

I actually did search carpal tunnel but I did not see that thread in the search results. (searched it again and it wasn't there)

More importantly, it's probably best to give Starcraft 2 and all computing in general a rest for a while. 1 Week of solid rest will help a lot more than massaging your hand and going back to straining it.

It probably isn't carpal tunnel. It is probably just overused. Yes you can overuse your hands. Its happened to me. I went to the doctor and they told me it was just overuse plus inflammation. If you go to your doctor they will probably recommend somewhat large doses of tylenol or other over the counter anti-inflammatory drugs. They also gave me a wrist brace my wrist wouldn't move as much. It helps the most if you wear it at night while sleeping.

lol at the people trying to diagnose in this thread.
See a doc man.
Tingly moving into numbness kind of feelings is either impingement of the nerve, or lack of blood flow to it. Either way, not good scenarios.

Yeah I'm going to take a break for a bit and if it starts up again after that I'll go see a doc.

Went to doc. Carpal tunnel they said. Thanks for the advice guys.

No kidding? Shit man. Sorry to hear it. What can you do? What brought it on? Did they explain to you what brought it on? We need more info.... Is it treatable at all... I know it lasts long but does it go away?
Did it happen because you played to much or just had bad posture? Shit man so sorry to hear it....

Yuck. That sucks man.....
