I'm just about to head to Char, and I need to decide how I'm going to spend my cash. I've kept it lean so far, only getting the ugprades for the Bunker, Turrets, the Orbital Command, and the upgrades for Marines, Medics and Tanks. I haven't hired any mercenaries yet.
As for Researching, I've gotten the Orbital Strike (drop pods ftw), Raven, Auto Refinery, Micro Filtering, and the Attack boost for the P upgrades, the Hive Mind Emulator, Biosteel, Hercules (I love this baby, don't judge me), Perdition Turret, and Fortified Bunker.
I currently have 1 445 000 credits available..... Some upgrades I'm thinking about getting are:
Every merc - 315 000
SCV Repair - 80 000
Fire Support System - 90 000
Ripwave Missiles - 75 000
Phobos Class WEapons System - 90 000
Missile Pods - 140 000
D Matrix - 150 000
330 mm Barrage Cannon - 130 000
Immortality Protocol - 140 000
For a grand total of 1 210 000 credits. Which means I have 235 000 remaining (assuming my math is correct). Any suggestions for what I should still get? OR if you think I can spend them better?

Fire support system is a life saver! definatly that and missle pods are great for certain missinos.

The combo tech lab/reactor is incredible, however, you went for drop pods... Vessels are also great, they autorepair mechanical units, both combined make for incredible mech play. I prefer terran mech, however, so your choices might be better for a bio route. In that case, be sure to get +2 bunker slots.
I wouldn't get any mercs, I bought a few at the earlier levels, but then never used them. The timer is a pain in the butt. The only ones I would ever train in game are marines.
I would get the 2x repair speed, for sure, and repair systems are pretty beast as well. I ended up with all of the building research upgrades, they're all very helpful.

i got every merc and usually just used them to win some missions, if you can get 2 of every merc you can win games just using them

from what i understand, if you were over D on ICCUP the campaign is easy as shit. spend all your money on stuff that isn't in MP becuase it is the only time you will ever see it.

hm not a fan of the thor upgrades as the thor is so costly/bulky and u typically need to float between bases due to harrassment that i find the thor rather non-useful

The campaign is pretty easy..... I'm running through it on Hard, and getting all of the achievements along the way (I did it already, but apparently battle.net didn't like my internet connection, and I'm missing a lot of the achievements). I'll go back and do it on Brutal later, and run through it quick in Normal as well.
I'm wondering which upgrades/mercs will make it easier to beat All-In. Gates of Hell will be easy with Drop Pods, and the other two are a piece of cake as well (I really hated those Nydus Worms, so I'll probably do it the air way this time).
I wanted the Thors to stun Kerrigan (with splash damage from the 330 mm cannons), and the Battlecruisers to use Yamato. Perdition Turrets to deal with ground, Vikings and Turrets to deal with Air, and some M&M as a bit of a backup. I can also use the Hive Mind Emulators to mind control a bunch of Z stuff as well (read - Broodlords). This way, I shouldn't have to use the Nova at all, or at least not until the very end (where I use it once and kill a lot of shit, to get 2 achievements at once).

If you haven't already make sure you get all the achievements related to buying out each catagory by saving and then reloading after getting each one.

Done. Part of the reason for keeping it lean.
What I just realized - The 2 Spectre upgrades cost exactly 235 000. They could come in useful. I think I'll get all the mercs, the upgrades I listed, and the Spectre upgrades, and leave it at that.
