Updated my post
Well ok ill wait for another EU update. To keep track of the updated please use detailed version numbers like v1.1.23 or v1.1.67 in the future. Then you tell me whats YOUR latest version and ill check EU server for the version when i post bugs/feedback.

tested a bit today.
pretty sure you know about reaver not alerting on attack. Not sure if anyone said how mines activate from workers, or how they reveal invisible units.
ill keep looking for bugs keep up the work i'm loving this.
also i'm pretty sure i've seen someone recreate the muta stacking so its not outta the question to recreate that "bug".
|
Yeah i totally have the thread for making muta stack like in BW. Also that guy created real moving shots like it was possible with patrol micro and vultures. Just that he did it with hellions.
Im sure it would be of great use when polishing the map once its properly working and bugs are out. I'll look for it if you want, but its not the right time yet imho
Anyways great work so far. Keep it up! You create a nice map which will get played by many people =) ^some nice words from me, because all i did so far was pointing out bugs and telling you about errors. I felt bad :D

lol it's ok.the whole point here is for people to tell me whats wrong so i can fix it. yea mines reveal cloaked units currently. it's a temp-fix because the way mines work currently they are unable to attack cloaked units. they'll pop up out of the ground with one nearby and then just pop back into the ground and loop constantly so i gave them a small area of detection. i dunno. i'll work on this. they are not meant to target workers however. thats an easy fix however

kk played new version:
-Dragoon range upgrade is still called "Button/Name/SingularityCharge2" Thats the same error like the defiler and ability names.
Note: thats EU version, i have no idea about SEA version
- tested zealot speed: feels too minimal. Upgraded zealots are a bit faster but it should be ALOT more.

the tooltip name errors are just because im lazy and havn't done tooltips. i dont see it as a priority at all since everyone playing this knows what everything does...
i'll tweak zealot speed i guess.

next time you PM me a new version show me the changes too.
Also I'm having a hard time finding someone to play this on the EU server if you can add me that would be nice.

Yeah ok, but also in the new version the hotkeys of those units (with the weird names) do NOT work in EU version.
hotkeys for dark swarm, consume, build scarab, burrow for lurkers, plague, and so on. All those have NO hotkeys and weird names.

Mines are alot faster than in brood war, it's really hard to target fire them when they pop out of the ground, the attack the closest enemy unit when they pop not the one that set them off, Archons and workers set them off, haven't tested it with vultures

Due to the fact that sc2 units react faster, and changing from moving to attacking way more smoothly, that spider mine speed compesates for it. Mines were so effective against dragoons because they have to stop and do the animation to enter "attack mode", that doesn't happen on any sc2 unit. Archons, workers and vultures are "hover" units, mines doesn't target those units. Or are you saying that if there's an archon near them, then they don't activate?

mines currently target hover. i've fixed that but it's unreleased. hotkeys not working on EU might be because of a localisation problem. i'll look at it. mine targetting closest instead of what triggered it i will also look into
*EDIT i did some tests and spider mines seem to attack the unit that triggers them instead of closest unit just fine?
also spider mines cannot be targeted while unburrowed... i do not know why. investigating.
*EDIT AGAIN*
fixed spidermines being invulnerable while unburrowed.

problem is i dont like how starcraft 2 is played atm. mainly zerg. i dont mean unbalanced. i just mean how you have to play each race. and although i do love sc1 it's hard to keep playing it in sprite form.

i've been playing around. making units turn faster and such (vultures in particular)
anyway. i've played with muta stacking before but it's always been dumb. you can stack like 50 and 1 shot buildings. i thought of an idea today. basically everytime the mutalisk goes to attack it checks a radius of 1. if there are more than 11 mutalisks in that radius. they will not attack. this allows a player to stack upto 11 mutalisks and use them in that way. they can still stack more of them. but doing so will result in the mutalisks being unable to attack at all.
im still... not 100% happy with this but i think for now it's a middle ground most people would be happy with.
i'll post a video soon.

I'm not gonna lie; I hardly read the entirety of this thread. But you do know the reason Brood War is balanced was because of the game engine, right?
SCll's more advanced engine and pathfinding is going to make this impossible to balance.

You do know that if that was true you could never balance SCII properly, right?
Nobody here said that you can't make some adoptations in terms of costs etc. on the BW units for the new engine.

Played last night, noticed these things (might be out of date since I downloaded the map 2 days ago or so)
HT still has feedback Spider mines don't require research, they are available immediately
