So a cool TL citizen by the name of TheConstructed gave me a guest pass for SC2 and i'm pumped about to install it.
Oops I pick my c: drive, not enough space, no problem just switch it to my d: drive like a meant to.
GG Blizzard there is no way to do this, no matter what it is determined to install on my c: drive.
I have deleted every SCII file on my computer, re downloaded the client and it still just ASSUMES my c: drive.
There is no way i can create sufficient space on my c: drive either so it seems I am SOL.
Any suggestions?

That must be a mistake. There has to be a way to install to a different place.
Some installation program gives a default path (usually on C then there is a button you can choose to change it. I remember Microsoft Office 2003 is like that.
|
Is it really so impossible to make space on your C? Just move some stuff over to your D drive. How small is your C drive?
You'll probably have performance issues if your main hard drive is filled to the brim anyway, unless by C and D drives you mean that you just made separate partitions.
|
lol seriously? then clear up your harddrive man. everyone knows you can't run your computer on peak performance with the harddrive completely full. shift things over to the other drive or purchase an external.
|
I f I could purchase an external HD i would have purchased SCII xD
|
Also my main HD is 80g my slave is 250g.
I honestly can't figure out what is taking up so much space I install most of my programs, and leave all my videos music and images on 250. I'm puzzled.
|
I had no issues installing it to G:/Games/SC2 on my computer.
Is the drive you are installing to NTFS? If not you will have to convert it because the file sizes are too big for FAT32 to handle.
|
The problem is switching the hard drive I'm installing it to after I already chose a differant one.

there is a tech support forum now

this happened to me when I was DLing SC1/BW from Blizzard
accidentally set it to install to my DVD drive. I had to use a different PC to DL it and then transfer over the download to the correct PC.

you people really should learn to use google. had a similar problem and 30 sec google search told me to delete the blizz downloader string in the registry. worked fine then.
|
I have 4.5 gigs free and it will not run.
|
Ah i getcha so you couldn't tell me how to delete the registry string?
|
Sweet deleting the registry string worked, thank you even though you are probably the most condescending poster I've encountered on TL.
I find it amazing that blizzard hasn't created an easier way to fix this then having to go through my registry files.

yeah both problems (the installer c: problem and the downloader path switch) are incredibly stupid. but i really think there is a difference betwen understandable rage posts and rage that is caused by not using the most simple form of fixing -> the search function.
this blog post wouldnt have existed if the OP spend 10 minutes trying to fix the prob/searching for a solution just like the info you got from me was available in a much more detailed way if you had spend 1 minute searching for "how switch blizzard downloader path" or whatever on google.

You really hate Blizzard based off of this non-issue?
|
No I hate blizzard because they don't think little things like this through, because they simply don't care.
