Alpha Protocol was playable, but not much else. I appreciate everyone's feedback, I'm going to look into several of these games.

Thief series, Splinter Cell series (up to 3, 4 and 5 just don't have the same feel to it any more as they're more of the shoot 'em up instead of stealthing around), Tenchu series, Commandos (but that's more of a tactical stealthing).

The level design reflects this theme of choice: most of them have optional alternative routes (such as vents and secret passageways) that provides you with multitudes of options when choosing how to approach your given objective. Add in RPG elements and an awesome cinematic story and you've got one of the best games ever made. It's fairly old (2000-ish), but its gameplay has yet to be matched in my opinion.

You have a "cover" meter that shows you how well concealed you are. Enemies that will try and find you. Not to mention all the realistic bullet effects such as wind, breathing, distance ect ect that can all be turned on or off depending how hard you want to make it. A really enjoyable game if you have the patience (which if you like stealth games you probably do) Only downside is the graphics aren't that great, but hey, so what! Also put me down as a +1 for Deus Ex, AWESOME game.
