I've had a chronic nausea problem for a year or so, anyone have any idea what it is?
Description: It comes and goes but when it comes it usually lasts for a week or so. I feel like throwing up and I even cough and come near to it. I think it might be due to malnutrition and lack of exercise so I've started eating more and taking vitamins. I've also started some mild exercise and plan on increasing the intensity of my workouts. I only started a couple days ago though but at the moment I'm still feeling nauseous. I don't know if they are related but a couple days ago I started getting aches and pains in my back as well such that stretching doesn't really help alleviate the ache. My energy is kind of low as well.
I've booked a doctor's appointment but it's a week away.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance

i think that's just your body reacting to you being more healthier. Working out more, eating better, that's what i think.

Honestly don't think too much about instead just get to that doctor and make sure you're prepared to describe your symptoms properly and he'll probably put your mind at rest and help you out. You should have went to a doctor much sooner but at this point don't turn to the internet for advice. Trying to come up with your own diagnosis by googling/forums will only scare the living shit out of you.

I think it's safe to say no one on TL can give you an even remotely accurate diagnosis/prognosis.

Did you even read the OP AT ALL? I skimmed it for 10 seconds and it's clear the increased healthy diet and exercise is a response due to the nausea, not a cause.

Which is something that happens after started to exercise when you haven't exercised in a long time. Dont need to be an ass IN CAPS!;

Back pain could very well be related to exercise sure but how the hell could we know?

I guess there is no point in posting links I found by searching on google if you suffered from chronic nausea for a year. I know a friend of mine did had similar symptoms but he also suffered from head ache(migraine) and after a cheakup it turned out it was severe migraine that he suffered from. You "just" gotta endure until you get a diagnosis and the doctors are able to provide you with a cure. Be strong and you'll manage to get through this.

Make sure you're staying well hydrated and getting plenty of sunlight. Then eat raw unprocessed foods over fried denatured foods.

You need to have a proper sleep schedule and a proper eating schedule. Sleep daily for the appropriate amounts of times at night (preferably 6-9 hours). Then, take 3 meals a day at the same time every day. Do not skip meals, do not eat junk food. Eat healthy foods.
Breakfast - Something light and unprocessed. Include fruits. Lunch - Should be heaviest meal, go for some kind of sandwich with lots of lettuce and vegetables. Try salads, but make sure to include meat (or some protein source). Stay away from fried foods, and heavily processed foods. Eat as much raw/natural things as you can (it will keep your system clean). Dinner - Try some kind of soup/stew. Nothing too heavy.
DRINKS: Only drink water from now on. Don't drink sodas, energy drinks, etc. Keep your system as clean as possible. Have a LOT of water throughout the day. Keep up this routine for a few weeks and you will notice a change. Every morning, do some yoga or meditation. It will help blood flow better to your entire body and all your organs.

thanks for suggestions so far, what i'd really like to know is the cause of this. i guess that's probably too much to ask though without a physical examination by a physician

it's impossible to say with the vague description you have given nausea is probably the most common problem , without any other details noone here can say
try going on curezone forums at curezone.com , people there may be able to help you
since noone else has mentioned it have you thought of the possibility that you may have some kind of food allergy? this may explain why it comes and goes.i am just throwing some ideas out , don't take my words as gospel.
