Lately i haven't had much time to play with my parents cracking down on it, work, and friend time. I feel bad that I haven't been able to play and I know my fragile D+ mechanics are definitely becoming even more mediocre.
How do you guys deal with not playing, or more specifically having parents who won't let you play? Do you go out of your way to make time for it? Squeeze in a game wherever you can? Or do you just commit to not playing till your schedule opens up?
Also I'm thinking I need to start posting more. I've been around since like mid 08 and have less than 150 posts to show for it!
Also I haven't contributed to the community at all and when I see all these people here who put so much effort for it, I feel extremely grateful and ashamed to have nothing to offer myself. Thanks to all the people who make TL the amazing site it is.

i play on and off a lot, i'll reach d+ and just quit because i get burned out (im really low level d/d+). then i'll start playing the next week. What i do during the time im not playing, or unable to play, I keep up with TL news, strategy section (harder for bw now seeing as the content has pretty much halted), youtube vods, etc.
if im busy and i never get a chance to go into my "on" phase of playing because of school, i squeeze in a half hoour or hour every day to practice all of my build orders so that i dont forget them

Stop caring so much about it. It's a hobby, and you do want to track your progression over it, but I think too many TL'ers have anxiety about their rank or their APM or whatever. Play when you can, if you want to. When you're not, do something else that's worthwhile, ie. school, work, socializing beyond the computer.

I don't really play much at all, as I have too much to do with school and stuff. I'd rather spend my free time surfing, chatting with friends and watching TV-series. I only play SC when I have time and friends of mine want to play. And in my experience, time spent with friends can also be spent playing starcraft with them, preferably irl though.
