Each case is unique and depending on the particular situation, we have plenty of different options available to us. Given the fact that this was primarily a financial crime, of course confiscating all assets gained from the illicit activities is a given. But seeing as how for most of the people involved, there's no reason to believe that they would pose a danger to society, I don't see why some form of house arrest or community service wouldn't be considered along with a hefty fine. Jail these days isn't so much meant to be a form of punishment as a method of keeping the offending individual out of the community. Seeing as it's rather unlikely that someone like Savior will continue to commit the same crime or another crime, there's really little reason to put him in prison. As for some of the organizers, there would be more of a reason there simply because of the reports of them using threats to manipulate the gamers as well as the fact that organizing this kind of activity is something they could easily do again if they were back in society. I understand that you may be offended by this course of events and the scandal, but don't let that color your beliefs in regard to what the punishment should be. Justice should be reasonable and thoughtful, not vengeful. Hmm, I don't agree. It's much more complex than that. Jail is the punishment in our societies (think that in most society you had a shotload of very creative punishments that we have let aside). I don't know how sever Korean justice is and what there policy is towards this kind of crime. It's really dependant on each country's justice.

At least players like Savior, Hwasin, go.go etc. played in high profile games that would allow them to get a large amount of money. Besides, if IdrA was in it for the money, he would have been better off going back home to the US then staying in Korea. I am preety sure he earned more money through winning foreigner events then he did through his progaming salary. I know you weren't implying that he was, but I just thought it wise to discredit the theory upfront before people would get any ideas. Anyway, this issue makes me wonder if these progamers, now that they tarnished their reputation in the Brood War scene, will try their luck in SC2. Since SC2 (currently) isn't under KeSPA's jurisdiction, they currently have no say in who plays the game professionally. However, I certainly hope they will not be allowed to do so. The last thing a fledging SC2 scene needs is to be negatively marked by cheaters and frauds, just like Brood War was in the early days. Idra wouldnt be able to take part because he has never been in a proleage game.

I CANT believe Savior is in this lame shit. Im really sorry for him being in this precise hell of a moment. I can honestly say I will remember him for his glorious moments and not for his latest actions/decisions in progaming cuz I'm pretty sure this is it, Hes Done with progaming, so Im not saying I dont care about this scandal, Im just saying I will remember him as THE MAESTRO of zerg, not a criminal as many have already pointed out. I just cant see him that way, for me he didnt started this business nor he was the main target (sort of), in my opinion he just got corrupted as every other human gets at least once, thats what makes us Human (we r not perfect), anyways I think I might be saying some nonsense crap rite but I also think its bcuz of my frustration towards one of my SC role models and also due to the fact that Im disappointed to see one of my Favorite Games "Starcraft" involved in such a dirty business. Im really sorry Savior. Hope u do well in the future. Im pretty sure ur not completely guilty, in fact I think at some point You didnt do it by yourself instead You were forced to do it and well "money talks" and ur just a kid who took a wrong decision, but thats Human, so once again I hope u do well in the future. Hope you could also read this. It's also In moments like this one when Fans should show support not only when you're wining matches.

IdrA was in the CJ house while this was going down. Has he made any statement about all this yet? Yes because idra was betting against himself in the dream leauge games he didnt play
