Things like this just annoys me. Kids today. :/ The whole process is automated and they most likely have an unlimited supply of keys from Blizzard, nobody loses and a few people who've been waiting for a key for forever finally get a change to do so. Besides that a lot of people will also find the site this way and actually do a legit order thus the site gains profit.

But it's all Blizzard's fault - they seriously f*cked with their fans .. instead of rewarding people for having bought (almost) all of their games with keys, they give them by the thousands for pre-orders. F*CK THAT. As if 99% of everyone wouldn't buy the game anyway. Greedy a$$hats.

Im hoping it's the unlimited keys alternative since otherwise they probably wont be as forgiving with future offers like these.

They could do like some other sites (I think at least) and not let you cancel the preorder after you get your key. Combine that with some sort of address/identity check and it could work. Then again, this is Sweden, so they'll probably be whined to death about sidestepping consumer laws and blah blah. Another option is to send the key after you have had you prebooking in place for some time (like 2 weeks or whatever), which would encourage loyal customers that put in their orders months ago. Sadly, any attempt at giving away free stuff on the net ends up being abused until it goes away. There are entire site devoted to nothing but getting as much free crap as you possible can, regardless of if you need it or not. As for the UK/US/Canada people in this thread who keep wanting keys, can't you preorder at one of your own stores and get one? I thought this was fairly wide spread by now.

I think this gets around this, as your basically abuse the pay when it arrives at your door scheme and not a credit card one. Yeah, but then people would just pre book a week early. But, lol beta keys must increase sales. I guess it is bad. In the UK you can't get a beta from preordering.

It was your decision to buy the games you did, your decision to do whatever else you have done in the name of Blizzard it was not they who forced you into it. Of course it works both ways, you buy their products they are greatful. But what they really owe you is to actually make money(not being soulless monsters about it though, like Activision) so they can keep making kick ass games and provide us with new digital toys to play with. Besides, how the fuck do you please a fanbase that is comprised of millions of people? I'd say you don't since it's fucking impossible to please that many. And yes it is fucking infuriating that they seem to throw keys by the wind when so many real fans(so to speak) havent gotten one but that is just one way of enticing new customers. You gotta be real about it as well. And then to say that you can abuse someone/a business because of a completely different company treating you in a way you think is unfair, like wtf kind of logic is that.

Blizzard was going to give the key out anyway, and webhallen wasn't gonna get the sale anyway.

According to Distans- och hemförsäljningslagen (2005:59) all Swedish retailers have to allow you to cancel anything ordered by mail, phone or via the internet as long as it is a certain type of product(things that spoil or go bad such as food are not covered by this law, but computer games are). The only way to get around this is probably to have some kind of communication with the game companies in order to cancel the actual beta keys once they are given out or to simply not give out the keys until much later. The first of which the game companies probably don't care about since beta is a publicity stunt and the latter of which defeats the purpose of giving out beta keys in the first place. Edit: apparently the link is broken, but the law still applies if you care to look it up somewhere else.

You're right of course. It's not right to abuse a business. Nor to expect blizz to owe up to me or any fan of their games. There's no logic in this scam we're attempting either - but it is kinda understantable. Consider - blizz gives away a ton of keys to fan sites & stores for pre order, instead of giving directly to fans, in order to create hype. What are fan sites gonna do? Whatever benefits them the most, of course. Disregarding a few pages who ran serious key competitions (TL,SC:Legacy for example), every moron fan site owner uses the keys to increase their traffic and, following that, advertising profits - it's all "make an account with us,follow us on twitter, follow us on facebook, make us a video, retweet this retweet that 100 times". They're making thousands of people dance through hoops. And the fans do it willingly. And 5% of them win o.o Who here, lacking a key, hasn't joined a dozen different constests ? I myself joined 16. Won nothing. Still trying as a matter of fact. But then you see shit like constests running only for specific countries. And the frustration increases day by day. It's already been close to 2 months of worthless effort. Going to pre-order bonus keys - that pissed me off more than anything else. It's pure shameless fucking greed. You've got a fucking huge fanbase already. And even then, preorder wasn't available in a majority of countries. So, maybe reading that wall of text can you some insight into my (our?) state of mind. tl;dr : Pointless rant about why blizz pissed me off so much. Also their beta key managers are faggots.
