I don't know if anyone has tried this but you can basically pre-purchase a copy of Starcraft 2 on webhallen.com and recieve the B.net key within 1 hour. This is an automatic process. After you simply cancel your purchace and whips, you have a free B.net key.

Arbitrage on the market to say the least.

It is stupid, and it does work. You can always cancel your orders within 30 days to get a full refund, but by then you obviously have your key.

Blizzard is already giving away hundreds of thousands of keys to the different retailers

I don't think they care to be honest. From their point of view it's probably -> Offer a beta key -> Create even more interest to buy the game when it's actually out -> More customers.

I preordered at Gamestop they took a 50SEK reservation fe because of this kind of abuse and when i came home i had gotten my key from webhallen where i preordered the game 3 years ago :>

I pre ordered for a friend (He doesn't understand swedish, i do, some relatives and stuff), fake name and a swedish adress, ordered with post order so no VISA, and he got key, and i canceled, worked fine

Webbhallen does this often, especially for MMOs, if there's especially a special offer for a MMO key for a closed beta, they will give it out, then you just cancel and you end up up with a key. Not surprised. I think I'll do this for the lolz even though I already have 2 keys. (Can't have enough!)

There's probably enough properly raised kids that will actually go through with the purchase from the arguably best games retailer in the country that the few abuses won't be a problem.

I believe you can not cancel your pre-order on most american sites, after you got your beta key. But its probably a rule that some european country's have, that people can cancel there pre-order. But this site (webbhallen) does it anyway, and ofcourse there are people who just need to abuse this, with possible the consequence that they wont do this kind of action another time?

Of course I'm going to abuse it, because retailers in my country don't offer anything like that and navigating through their site is very easy even if I don't speak a word in sweden.
