If you don't have it yet, you can pre-order from GameStop and they'll give you a beta key. I bought 2 for my friend & I and got 2 beta keys. There's a code to get 25% off if you buy 2 copies (code: 25OFF). So it comes down to about $100 for 2 copies of SC2.
Anyway. I tried Terran but it seemed too hard since the units are different now so I went with the ez race, Protoss.
Got matched mainly against Terran in all of my games so far and I just go Stalker/Blink harass while I macro up a 150/200 food army of zealots with charge, stalkers, and colossi and take 3rd base. Then 1a GG. ez
I'm still learning about SC2 so any good PvT or PvZ reps would be appreciated.

What league are you in, mate?

If only I could get a key too by preordering! And for such a low price, too!

Talk about easy race, zerg is just the 1a race on lower levels. Protoss at least use some spells.

Just got beta last night. Since there is already a blog up that is basically the same story as mine, I thought I might as well put my thoughts here in with yours.
In BW, I played Terran, which was quite a bit more difficult than the other races(well, I should say Protoss is quite a bit easier than the other two) However, the things that made Terran hard aren't nearly as big a deal in SC2. Almost every T unit needs some sort of micro/positioning to be effective, and they generally needed a million unit producing structures making them hard to macro and manage all those scvs.
In SC2, MBS makes macro way easier, probably just as easy as P once you get a system down. And microing your army is so much easier with unlimited unit selecting and smart casting.
I feel like the gap in how "easy" each race is has become significantly smaller. In fact, I expect when the game is released for the lower levels to be flooded with T's rather than P because the first campaign is the T's.
Zerg I don't think is clear cut the noob race, though, because managing your economy/creep placing/overlord placement is still a whole lot to do. Their army is significantly easier to manage, but overall there is still plenty of usage for your apm. Protoss requires you to babysit the army quite a bit more than the other races. P armies tend to be the most diverse and have the most casters, meaning you need each type of unit attacking the correct enemy unit.

I find terran the easier race and for some reason, everyone else seems to think it is the hardest

Every time someone types the phrase "easy race" I want to punch a baby.
Stop it. Do it for the children.

Well I placed as Gold league, division 91, bonus pool 23. I still have no clue on how to play PvZ but the combo of zealot/stalker/colossi seems to work for PvP and PvT.
Help me out with PvZ reps if you have them. I got ling rushed from 1 base and died. Should've built Sentries and use their wall feature, but I found out about it too late.
Btw I'm looking for some people to add my to friend's list to practice and test things out. Character name: Sharingan, identifier: sharingan

Protoss is only "easier" at D level, and things don't matter at the newb level. Every race is equally hard past that.
I find Zerg to be the easiest in SC2, but also the most boring by far. Feel free to message and we can play some!

I agree, except that if I am a newb, things at the newb level matter to me, lol. The OP sounds to be at about my level as well.
I haven't found any race to be the most boring just yet, they all seem rather entertaining. I do think that each race in SC2 is difficult in different ways, though, as I said earlier. Once again, this is at the newb level, which matters to us newbs.
Anyways, thanks very much for the offer! I probably won't be able to play much for the next few weeks(finishing exams, moving, starting a job, planning a wedding, etc.) but I will probably take you up on that once things settle down.

From the the time I first got my beta key (thanks to Kennigit) I played Protoss, I tried each race once at the start just to see how they were countered and what opposing players would do, After much thought I decided to return as Protoss (Brood War for me started as Protoss and switched to Terran/Zerg when i decided i wanted a bit more of a challenge.)
Anyways, I am not very good, silver but I'm just learning, massing games and dealing with ladder resets. Something I noticed was that Protoss isn't as easy as it was back in Brood War. I've had the beta for about a week now and have just been trying different builds, haven't been watching as many replays as I should have but by for PvZ is the hardest for me. Zerg can easily switch tech and counter me very easily, keep playing, watch a few streams and check out some replays, I believe TL's own Nony released a replay pack a week ago(?) Check it out here But yeah, keep on practicing is the best bet, watch a lot of replays to see what works and what doesn't, good luck!
