Here's my Destination remake: + Show Spoiler [Picture] + Not perfect yet, image showing camera bounds (which makes it look kinda weird), only playable area is somewhat ready. There might be some balance issues between sides, didnt find mirroring tool so everything isnt identical.

Most likely match point coming next, unless some other map is suggested.
Edit: After testing, it seems this is slightly bigger map than Desti in SC:BW, which might or might not be bad.

I like how you made the corner expos gold =) Extra incentive to steal your opponent's! (like Jaedong did to Iris? or was it FBH)
|
I feel like the top main is a bit larger than the bottom one. Can't wait to see Match Point.
|
Looks very good thus far. Of course, i'm curious about the mobility of sc2 armies and the size of sc2 maps vs. sc1 and sc1 maps. It should be interesting to play arond with.
|
I like the desert tileset better than what you're using right now. Nonetheless, good work.
Also, I suggest you move the mineral patches/geysers for the 8, 9, 2, and 3 o clock expos further to the edge of the map.
|
good work
only thing that looks "wrong" to me is that the mains are soooo big and the center is so small...
|
yeah top main seems to be quite bit bigger. Fixing that would mean basically doing whole map again, just gonna move to match poinst and be more careful!
|
wow all the bw maps are way better than what blizzard has currently released... all we need to do is somehow implement those maps so we can play those for ladder...lol I would love to see some unique sc2 map features other than Xelnaga towers tho... we've seen those destructable rocks in bw way too much...sc2 gotta have some neat stuff other than Xelnaga towers

Awesoooome! Desti so good.

Judging by screenshot I like his version better but maybe I'm just influenced by his screenshot's different perspective.
I do however strongly dislike the min only being gold. A gold base without gas? thats gonna mean a ridiculous minerals to gas ratio for players. Whats a zerg for example supposed to do, build an army that consists of 80% zerglings?
|
Bit too square, make it rounder and it will look more natural. Looks pretty accurate apart from that.
|
frick match point is gonna be so badass in sc2 form. but i agree with the guy above me. bit too square

+ Show Spoiler +but seriously, good idea and I like the effort just make the mains smaller and the middle bigger so that they are about equal.

looks great, but the naturals look pretty small

oh shit son ] this looks good!

I think the 3 and 9 o'clock expansions should be gold, rather than the ones you have there. It is much more exposed, rather than being fairly well-protected, as it should be.
The mineral-only expansions should also have gas. In SC2, there are no mineral-only expansions. Due to the destructible rocks being in the way, it actually incentivizes you to put gas in there, as it is harder to get to. Compare this to Kulas Ravine (which actually has DOUBLE rocks), which keeps it as minerals+gas. Gas is just too important in SC2 to even consider getting a mineral-only.
|
Another suggestion(remember, you can't please everyone) is to remember that "()" as well as to place 1 gas at the high-yield as in SCII that would be the best way to make a "Mineral only" base.
