Alright, no more dub/sub talk arguments in this one, just pure story. I'm at episode 172 or so now and the battle against Eneru's Knights (Enel's Priests in sub) just got real, with Reindeer-boy owning the retard Knight and prior that that Luffy/Sanji popping the orb man. Now Luffy is stuck somewhere, I think he was eaten by a giant snake, but I can't tell. There are ruins wherever he is and it's dark.
Also, Eneru seems to be just like that level 84 lightning sorceress I had about 6 years ago in Diablo II, except that he has worse gear (wtf is that semi-circle thing lodged in his back that goes over his head?). Both my sorceress and him were able to teleport and use some sort of electric attack. Honestly all I've seen of Eneru is when he went to the boat that had the old King, Sanji, Nami and Ussop on it, and he electro-shocked the two boys to near death. Or something.
I'm really not seeing how this Eneru guy is going to live up to his hype: he's either weak enough for Luffy to gum-gum bazooka / etc him apart or he's too strong to be beat, there doesn't seem to be any middle ground for him. Too weak or too strong. Hopefully too strong - I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the Straw Hats lose an arc and have Eneru return as an enemy later. (edit: Luffy getting a power-up would fix this problem)
Also, his desire for gold makes no sense. WTF does this all powerful guy who reads minds almost want gold for? He's already the god-king of Skypeia: does he want to move up to controlling more islands? Is he the sky version of Arlong? Can't tell as of yet.
For those who respond, please no spoilers. I know I basically asked a bunch of questions, but I don't want them answered so much as I want to find out on my own. I know you have all the answers, but try to discuss as though you had the knowledge that I have.
Oh and some fat guy who commanded the 50 enforcers is fighting Nico Robin. She's been a bit of an enigma and disappointment so far: hope she does something fun.
Oh new bleach is also out, with really bad re-cap episode but it has a new opening and ending. Opening is awesome.
The gold thing will be explained. It's kind of silly though. Enel is ridiculously strong. You'll see in a just a bit more. The thing with Luffy vs Enel. Well, I saw it coming waaaaay before they actually showed it in the anime. If you think about it a bit, it'll be pretty obvious. Also, don't forget Mantra.

Yeah the Mantra bit is a strange twist. I don't understand how it works. I guess Luffy will have to overcome Eneru's mantra skills to be able to beat him, or maybe as in one of those Bleach battles he'll have to fight without thinking and just "flow" or w/e.
I think you will find out the nature of Enel's power soon. I don't remember when exactly you do find out about what exactly it is, but when you do find out about it, you will be able to acknowledge just how powerful he is, and let your imagination take it over from there.
But yeah, all your answers will be answered in due time. But I will say that Enel's desire for Gold is for something that you aren't expecting as of now.
Apparently Enel isn't dead and could come back... and Luffy could become the destined opponent in the word stage... could be really sick.
I still have no idea wtf those drum things were even though they seem to somehow help him in battle a bit... he's just a weird looking dude with those ears hahahaha

The problem with the manga is that it turns out better in story content then the anime lol after i started reading one piece bleach and naruto i tended not to watch the anime.

Ya but if I switched I'd plow through it in 5-10x the time the anime takes.
I just realized that Eneru's lightning powers shouldn't work against Luffy, as he's rubber, and therefore not conductive or affected... I wonder how their fight will play out.
lol Eneru has an Aizen vibe to him. Not quite seeing yet why people are saying he's the most powerful guy the Straw Hats ever encounter tho: he's just got lightning powers, Ace has fire and Crocodile had sand. Not really that unique. And Luffy is his kryptonite with non-conductive rubber.
Anyway shit soon to get about real, everyone getting ready to go at Eneru and Luffy gonna come out of mr snake soon and punch some crap out of lightning-face
