Sometimes I wish they would invent this machine to make a clean image in your head. For rpgs, adventure games and similiar the first time experience will always be the best and I fear to play the same game again in order not to ruin memories...
Well for any Final Fantasy lover, or general rpg enthusiast I really recommend Septerra Core : The Legacy of the Creator. Used to play it over 8 years ago, great music, graphics, enviroment, amazing storyline and even some tough battles that will take several times to beat.
Give it a shot - I promise you won't get disappointed!

I wanted to play Starfox 64 but I couldn't find my 64 cartridge at college so I had to play it on emulator ... the sound was whack and playing on the keyboard was pretty lame =_=
I did however get to listen to Wolf saying "CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT STAR FOX"

Golden Sun is always fun to pick up, took me a while to beat it the first time

UFO: Enemy Unknown, Fallout 1 and 2 (I always have these installed, no matter what) and Chaos Engine.

I'm in fucking love
Mount&Blade (2008) (and it's stand alone expansion Warband (2010) ) is so fucking amazing I cannot believe my eyes.
Seriously, it's the most fun single player game I've played in a long, long while, and while there were complaints about it not being refined enough, or having medium graphics, it is truly and remarkably epic, but epic in the sense of 1996-1998 gaming, if you know what I mean. The highlights are the sheer freedom you have to do as you please, and of course the brilliantly implemented combat system, very sharp, easy-to-learn hard-to-master type that will fuel your returning and re-returning to this game years later down the line.
It's and open ended RPG, with lots of subtle strategy and very intense third person action at the same time. It's a complex medieval fantasy setting with mounted and infantry combat, very realistic, no spells/magic, just cold hard steel and diplomacy.
Here is a video showing combat from the Warband expansion multiplayer + Show Spoiler +http://www.shackvideo.com/mount-blade-warband-tutorial-5-combat-trailer-18143
