Don't bother arguing with the pirates. Some of them can't afford it, some will buy it when it is cheaper, some will buy it when they remove the drm, and arguing isn't going to change anyone elses mind.

That's not a valid excuse anymore, especially when it's become common for most developers/publishers to use it. Also the game's lead developer was the man behind Bioshock's best level, Fort Frolic and as someone mentioned a lot of the original development team worked on 2 as well.

While it is relatively common, I think inclusion of DRM is a perfectly valid excuse. I understand why companies use it, but I still don't think it is an excuse. The DRM is almost always a hassle for legitimate customers and rarely actually prevents piracy.

I bought a fuckton of games over steam, and I've bought lots at retail. I've yet to buy a game with securom, and I never will. If the game gets rated 100% by every reviewer out there, I'm still not buying it unless securom is gone. If the only way to play without securom is pirating, then so be it.

But if its a choice between paying money + fucking up my system w/securom or no money + no securom, its not really a hard choice. Companies that use securom deserve to be punished. Yet another company didnt learn from spore. Except you aren't exactly punishing them. If you were really punishing them then you wouldn't play it. In the end, you are still their bitch for playing it.

PLOT SPOILERS AHEAD! + Show Spoiler + So i guess i got the "good" ending. I saved all the little sisters, didn't kill anyone except that guy from the train station (forget his name) and put the doctor out of his misery. However the ending was still extremely dissapointing. Eleanor saves her mother, and you fly up to the surface. Eleanor sucks the adam out of you, implying that you've become an angel or something (even though you're still alive) and then stares at the water with the little girls you saved. I'm pretty dissapointed. The game was fun though, even if the drill is overpowered.

Give it up, Boblion. The only definitive way to prove Bioshock 1's overrated-ness is to either enter into a lengthy discussion (which we've been through a couple times in other threads, lol), or to wait for people to play System Shock 2 (from which Bioshock derives 90% of the good ideas in it). First game was good if you didn't already own System Shock 2, and cared enough about graphics for it to be worth the difference between a $5 bargain bin game and a $50 new release (or if space zombies scare you). Personally, even if I cared about graphics, I doubt it would be enough to justify a tenfold higher cost--and I consider space zombies a plus.
