+ Show Spoiler +i wonder how the story will progress/what kind of arcs there will be after ace is saved, because obviously the admirals/shichibukai are the strongest characters of justice perserving the balance in the story
i think following could involve the other yonkou, the supernovas, or even finally revealing the mystery of dragon

Yeah, this arc is getting kinda long & drawn out...
There are some interesting things to think about though: - If luffy does save ace:
- How? Does he completely own the admirals/shichibukai with some new power (probably the one mentioned a few chapters ago when he screamed and the guards were like o_o wtf) - Does luffy run away with ace and the rest of the pirates there, or does ace leave with whitebeard / whitebeards crew and luffy stays to battle the rest of the marines?
- If luffy doesn't save ace:
- Revenge? Luffy escapes then comes back for revenge (new arc)? Or does he defeat them all on the spot?

There's also plenty of room for them to get reinforcements that would let them escape; "oh guys, we saw what was happening on them cute snail TVs, so we decided to sail over because someone left the door open". Blackbeard's still in limbo, the rest of luffy's crew is still in limbo, A bunch of different characters aren't really 'out' either but rather incapacitated with seastone (Ace/Phoenix Marco). There's also a lot of combinations already on the ground that could carry the day; Vigour hormones on whitebeard, for instance letting him put on an extended last stand to let his sons escape.

On January 16 2010 11:33 Conquest101 wrote:Yeah, as stated above, there are no definitive power "levels" in One Piece. Rather, it depends more on weaknesses and situations. For example, Luffy beating Enel. Oda said in some fact book I believe that if Enel was given a bounty it would be like 500 million. So basically Enel is the baddest ass bad guy there is (minus the Yonku maybe) yet Luffy was able to beat him pre-gears because rubber>lightning. However, without a clearly defined weakness (rubber for Enel, water for Croc), Luffy struggles against Logia types, hence why he gets owned by the Admirals, but does better against physical types (All the early battles, Rob Lucci, and Moria/Oz who is basically a physical fighter despite his powers). + Show Spoiler +I don't think we'll see a real Luffy vs Garp or Luffy vs Sengoku at this time. Luffy isn't really in any shape to fight and until he masters the use of Haki, I don't think he'll be knocking off any of the marine elite yet. Something will happen. I don't know what, but Oda rarely disappoints. Yeah, the example with Enel makes sense. The amount of destruction Enel and Whitebeard can commit does seem to be equal. I do understand that fights in one piece are really dependent upon the situation but Crocodile on par with Mihawk to me is just out of the question.
As for the story, I predict there will be a time-skip after this arc. In fact this whole arc is leading up to it, just think about it:
-"No matter who wins, this era will end" something that was said multiple times during the war. This is implying that there will be a new generation of pirates. (perhaps the supernovas?)
-When Akoiji and Kizaru kept telling Luffy that it's not his time yet, and it's too early for him to be there. Also after Luffy blasted them with haki they commented on him potentially becoming a great foe in the future.
-The Strawhat crew is split up and scattered all over the place. Unless they all meet up somewhere accidentally, I doubt they will see again for another year or so.
-Luffy needs to hone his haki. Possibly training with boa or maybe even his grandfather . Until Luffy can fight logias he is very much useless in the new world.

That'll happen about 400+ chapters later. Not now.

This arc will end soon. Oda is pretty good about pacing... in general.
You do know it's only been like 15 or so chapts since the start of the war, yes? You can't really tell a war in so few chapts. Been pretty good so far IMO given how much actually happens in each chapter.
Everytime I read a naruto or bleach chapt I get the feeling like nothing happened at all during the whole chapt.

+ Show Spoiler +Garp ;_; He's just to awesome
Although Sengoku's power definitely wasn't something I was expecting, I always thought he was normal... oh well
|
+ Show Spoiler +I'm still dumbfounded and dead confused of Sengoku's DF ability...... wtf..

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
In other news, Garp is a G. Its pretty humbling to see him finally accept his grandson's choice by letting him sock him one in the face.

+ Show Spoiler +I don't know.... now that I think about it, there is a HUGEEEE similarity of sengoku's DF and a budda statue..... so maybe it's a budda budda fruit??? LOL
But yea, i agree, Garp took it like a man. He was probably testing Luffy of his resolution.

+ Show Spoiler + Wow, big balls on Oda to have Luffy actually save Ace like that. Not what I was expecting.

+ Show Spoiler +bah, I thought that Mangastream was the faster release, but worse translation, and Onemanga would have the better translation, but the translation on Onemanga is kinda bad -_-;;
|
The Mangastream version was a lot better. I sent OneManga a complaint about that actually. Mangastream was way earlier with the chapter than OneManga, yet the latter still managed to get a worse translated and worse quality chapter up, which surprised me.
+ Show Spoiler +I actually predicted that Garp would say something about family and actually help with the rescue somehow. Now he made it look like he got beaten easily. Of course, no marine would ever be that stupid to believe Luffy was stronger than Garp the Hero. Also, Sengoku's fruit is a bit confusing. Giant Giant Fruit or Buddha Buddha Fruit ? I bet in the following chapter there will be Ace vs. Sengoku/Other Marines a lot, and some random marine will shout the name of Sengoku's power. And to add it up, becaues of Kizaru shot Whitebeard with a light beam for not being on guard, I think that Whitebeard will die in 2 chapters, if not the next chapter. And Ace will definitely do something about it.

fuck you guys. onemanga rules <3 anyways.. -______- Ace is saved but at the cost of whitebeard
