So as you guys may know from my last blog, I just got a new phone. I got the LG Xenon and it was working pretty well. First day of walking around with it and I've already managed to damage it though.
There seems to be a dot in the middle of the touchscreen that is most visible when I have the screen off and I have a light shining on it. If I push anywhere on the screen this dot will deform/stretch towards wherever I am pushing, sort of as if it were made of liquid.
I was trying to figure out how it got damaged and the only other thing in my pocket was a stick of Chapstick. So as of right now my theory is the chapstick was on top of the screen at some point and was pushed into the screen somehow.
I'm going to speak to the guy at Radio Shack that sold me the phone but I'm not expecting anything. Sucks though, first day of use and this happens. :/

Say it came like that = new phone

yeah if you say the word chapstick you aren't getting a new phone

One of my friends got his xenon broken 3 times, they replaced it everytime. I think they'll give you a new one even if it is your fault.

Uhh... Sounds like a dead pixel to me... They replace that

Hell, I even cut into a piece of computer hardware to make it fit, and they returned my money when I sent it back.

Ouch, that really sucks. If it isn't a dead pixel and it really is chapstick, might I suggest a screen protector next time?
And as mentioned above, I'd definitely neglect mentioning chapstick when talking to the store.

Its air. Ever tried putting a large sheet on a large table? The creases you see when you do that are basically the equivalent to the little airbubble in the middle of your phone. You may try to remove the protective foil. They won't give you a new phone, but laugh at you when you show it to them...

I'm guessing that it was in fact an air bubble as mentioned. I have no idea how but it's gone. I'm pretty relieved.
Just out of curiosity, what is wrong with chapstick? I feel like I'm being awfully naive but I really don't get it. It's winter, the air is dry, my lips will bleed if I don't use it.
