Come to think of it, what's your real life rating? No one can just play internet chessgames and get that good. It would be like some amateur tennis player only practicing at home with friends, then go out and be able to beat pros. PS are you Russian? And getting to 2500 is about as hard as getting A+ on ICCUP, if not harder. You have to dedicate 4 hours a day of study to chess for many years to come anywhere close to 2500 FIDE.

It could just be the competition around me sucks in real life though, or maybe I'm not as good at blitz as I am at slow :D. Blitz is often like an entirely different game. I don't mean that you need no skills for it, but it prefers a different skillset. I would say the two most important thing for blitz are rock solid cool nerves and general knowledge of chess. The former can net you wins and the later can save you important seconds to do the former better. Try wrote: That is insanely impressive. I assume you routinely get into games with Short and Nakamura? I can only hit 2200 before I hit a wall. Your opening knowledge must be extensive. Again. Well with both colours I know things like the King's Gambit, Vienna, King's Indian, Philidor and Caro on a considerable level maybe the Volga, too. With white I also have adequate knowledge of the Sicilian main lines, but mostly the sidelines, a line or two of the Spanish, what else... The rest I know well are just basic black defenses with a tempo advantage. With black I think I'm fine with the Janisch and a few lines of the French. I've tried a lot of stuff over the years. A few years ago I was really into improving my repertoire, but since then I seem to be living off just that. I don't think I've added many new things as of late. Maybe a deeper knowledge of the Orangutan (1. b4) and the Scandinavian. As for Short, he plays on Playchess. Maybe I'll meet him on board once I check that site out too, but I'm not all too eager. I like ICC. Naka is a tough one. And I don't just mean tough to beat. You can't really win against him. Because even if you achieve a draw, let alone win, people will start flaming you and calling you a cheater, or just flame you telling you just got lucky. And usually the first person to start flaming is Hikaru himself. He's a really nice guy otherwise, but he is the hero and if you play against him you are the devil. I played Carlsen twice. Got completely demolished. Like... One of it was maybe the only game in my life where I really felt I had no chance no matter how good I played or what I did. But I think it's no shame in going 0-2 against Magnus. No I'm not russian. I'm not active in real life tourneys any more. Haven't been for a while. I'm thinking about a few tournaments I used to love in the past for next summer, maybe I'll enroll. But I'll be honest... If I can instead go to a foreign country to meet some old friends I won't think for a second. If I can chill with a chick or woman I like during those 9 days I won't think for a second. But it's a long story and I really don't want to bore people with ranting too much. BalloonFight wrote: I would DEFINITELY watch a stream of this. 2500+ on ICC = Really god damn impressive. Live commentary would be excellent as well. I've watched the majority of KingsCrusher's library of games and have immensely enjoyed it, and would love to see another player who (probably) has different openings. Just don't expect much of my openings. Mostly it goes like this. I sac two pawns in the opening sometimes for no counterplay then they either make a mistake and I win or I lose like an arse. Yes I can't say I know nothing of openings, there are some I know pretty well, but mostly I play sidelines even if I play regular openings. But you will see I think. I may dig up a better game today.

I'm more into teaching thought processes, and longer term plan making. But to be honest most of the time I just rant about misconceptions and random crap. You'll see soon enough. This is the only kind of chess theory that is interesting, I would love to hear rants about thought process. Definitely looking forward to this if you decide to do it.

jfazz wrote: Nakamura is a douchebag. Ive had a few arguments with him, due to us having the worked mutually with the same two players before (Larry Christiansen and Joel Benjamin). While Hikaru is much stronger than me, the way he treats non-masters in discussion is disgusting. He's been nice to me in the past. We talked on a few occasions, but I don't think he even remembers to be honest. Just don't play him. He was part of the reasons I stopped playing 15-minute. I wanted to set the record for that a while ago when D-Squared was the man (he is a beast, too by the way). The people I really love are Gata, Loeky and Atalik. Atalik can be quite blunt and proud too, but I've always liked him for some reason. And I also have a biggish set of people I like to watch playing when I'm bored or can't sleep. (I've learnt the later one from Adamredsox, he's an extremely nice helper.) It's not that dependant on rating though, I just have my favourites and sometimes it still feels weird when I get paired up against people I've been watching for four years. Edit: Oh and how could I forget Miguel Quinteros! It always warms my heart to see him play on ICC.

I am sure it would be interesting to see/hear your thoughtprocess and I think it would considerably improve my game. Check out www.chess.fm It's even better, with a grandmaster going over a game, discussing the reasoning, showing the possible variations, etc. Very very entertaining and instructive. Here's one to check out: http://webcast.chessclub.com/London09/Round2/GOTD.html

Here's one to check out: http://webcast.chessclub.com/London09/Round2/GOTD.html Again haha. Three years ago I would have just flamed you in the worst manner I can be. But seriously, by all means check out ChessFM. It might be thing for you or it might not. Personally I listen to it when Peter Svidler is taking guest appearances and sometimes for MrHat and Mig. They and a few others are hilarious. I don't like IndianaJones, though. Champ or not. That said I only ever tune in for the stories and the fun accent of Svidler. I realized quite early that even in chess books I liked to read the stories more than the actual chess. Keep one thing in mind, though. Just as South Korea is the Maccah of SC people still like to watch foreign players play and talk, too. And it's the same with chess. ChessFM might or might not be better than what I will or would ever achieve on a stream, but I think there would still be people interested in some random rants of a noobie from the other end of nowhere. Hadn't I thought so I would have never brought this whole streaming issue up.

I prefer to play that because it's somewhat random. On Playchess I've only played like four games against ~1600. I plan to subscribe earlier next year, though. A friend of mine keeps bugging me to play there.

Aside from that I got in the mood to show if I play some games scarcely. That doesn't happen too often, though. The game I play the most is Gemcraft and I only play that like once every two weeks. I'm taking suggestions if you're interested to see anything. Also if you want to see a specific opening in blitz, I know a few moves and I don't mind doing some research and dig into new things. I could also play some 15-minute games with them which could improve quality and make for more lengthy explanations. Edit: I started giving random simuls, I think it might be fun to watch for some. Edit2: So far what everyone seems to wanna hear is me ranting and dissing other players.

How is your standard game? You can see some high rated blitz players on icc with terrible standard ratings because they are just fast. If you stream i'd love to watch. Standard games would be awesome as you discuss thought patterns ect.
