A little short history about Liquibet and me: as this marks my third/fourth official history and start of Liquibet, the closest I ever got at one point in time was rank #2 only for a good 2-3 weeks, until I stopped LBing for a week and I went to a major slump into the rank 200s, then 300s, etc afterward. That was my very first LB that time. I wasn't able to produce any significant results nor comebacks since then, constantly on a slump, having people walking all over me in ranks, into a series of despair; wondering when the hell I rise to the top again?
Then it came. The dawn of a new season of LBing began early september where I made my first bets with high hopes and mind I would claim that #1 spot this time! First week went by, not even close to #100, second week gone by, in the #500s, and by the end of third week, my rank have reached an all time low ranking spot of LB rank #916. In anger, depression, tears, and calling out "LB IMBA" for those who claim to be in top spots, a certain fellow challenger appeared one day, in a PM started as such:
dude, I'm one spot below you! haha, your on 916, I'm on 917!(tho same amount of pts) I challenge you hereby to LIQUIDBET DUEL! who wins by the end of the season
With all hopes and determination reaching an all time low point at the time, I swiftly pondered if this is the certain time I've been longing for. And such, I saw.....
Apparently, a little history about my first major challenger, his name is ThePhan2m, whose paths have been crossed with me once before in a game of Catan that was seemingly popular at one point and time in Sports and Games section of TL. I easily destroyed him at that time, and as I recalled that moment, I accepted his challenge to destroy him again like how sAviOr would once destroy everyone he faced back in the old days.
Thus, the battle was on, but for a price... I've decided a penalty was only fair for the loser in which an entire separate blog dedicated to it was made by him. The link? Right here: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=104264 Who will be the victor? Would it be me? This guy who once cried for rematch over and over in catan as I strategically crush him over and over? Only time would tell and of course, LB luck & skill.
And then... I conquered... as weeks went by, we compete in making our bets, our games, our shots, our determination into one heart and soul of what is known as the ultimate betting battle of 2009 I ever came across. Defeating challengers along the way (and ThePhan2m), I managed to correctly mark my LBs one by one, day by day, week by week, going from LB rank 916 to the 700s, then to 600s, 500s, 400s, and so on and on, until that one moment where I finally reached within the top 100. I questioned to my challengers, is there ANYONE who can defeat me in this duel? They all slowly make their exit, as their LBs seem inferior and weak, unlike my strong determination and power of LBing skills.
As I finally regain my confidence little by little, I make my way to the top once more, top 50, top 40, rank 43, and then just 2 days, I reached a new rank of LB rank #14 after the swift victory over Khan vs hite and STX vs MBC. Did I knew Stork will be send out twice? Or Hwasin in the ace match? Precisely, all of them were within my calculations, knowing their every move, their every encounter, the battles. All I had to do was to simply come and see. And I conquered.
What path lies within me in the future? The world may not, none of my challengers may not know as they given up on me, but I, on the other hand, know my next destination. That Liquibet trophy of this season will be mine. I, QUICKSTRIKER, WILL OBTAIN VICTORY AS THE MASTER AND WINNER OF THIS LIQUIBET SEASON! And thus, Veni, Vidi, Vici Liquibet...
