D+. First time ever.
So why did i get D+ now?
Well, i guess its due to mass gaming, its due to being lucky, but mostly because I've just spend 3 weeks without internet.
So why is this the reason?
Well, since i had summervacation (14 yrs old, so I'm in 8th grade now in Denmark), and because my family had to go to Copenhagen, we decided that we might as well spend 3 weeks camping (at least thats what we call it in Denmark) in a camper. Unfortunatly we had many rainy days, so Yatzy and my brothers computer were the things i could do. Of course we did not have internet, and my brother only brought two games, StarCraft and a little newer game called Settlers 4. (great game, anyone who play it?)
So while i did play mostly Settlers, i also played Starcraft quite some time. But being matches against the computer, and my only internet source being my mobilephone, my options were limited.
So, the internet I had was constantly used, cause I wanted to follow the pro-scene and especially find some interesting threads in the strategy forums (i read every single post I could find for 3 weeks in the strat forum)
Eventually i came across things like a the introduction to the 7 minute timing push PvZ, and some good strats PvT (my worst MU), and the 4gate 2archon push (which I later found useless). So i went on to practice forge FE with the 7 minute push (which btw always kills the computer), the 4gate 2archon push, and some new ideas on how to do PvT. So i actually played a load of games with the CPU, and at the end of vacation, i had improved my macro and BO execution significantly. (i had also completed the brood war campaign btw cause i was bored)
So when i got home, i played horribly. I had much better macro, i had much better strategies, but my brothers laptop keyboard was still in my hands. So i kept pressing the windows key when i wanted Ctrl (cause he has this Fn button at the lower left instead of Ctrl, which is to the left) for example, and thus messing up a lot. I was only playing obs games now, cause i was annoyed that i couldn't hit the right keys, so my rank didn't go much down. My confidence did unfortunatly, especially PvZ, where every single Z 2-3 hatch hydras me. So this practice had yet to show, huh?
Now, next day, coming home from first day at school, i didn't want to play, i felt miserable playing to say it straight. I then went over to my friends place, and we sat down all day and were total idiots.
At the end of the day, my friend, who doesn't play Starcraft (he plays WoW), wanted to see me play. While i knew my skills were in a slump with my keyboard skills messed up, i said "okay fine lets play", i grapped my usb stick with starcraft and went to b-net. So we only played one game, a PvZ (which i was feeling was the hardest MU atm), and i got 3 hatched hydra. My friend was like "wow he totally rolled you huh?", and i didn't care too much about the game, but i noticed that my keyboard probs were over. So i went home shortly after, it was getting late, and when i got home i went straight to TL.net and was about to post a strategy forum thread about what people do to keep probes alive for scouting 3 hatch builds, etc.
But then i saw something which fixed all my problems.
Day[9] Podcast 11. So, while i did see this, I wasn't too hyped yet. I mean, the guy is a Zerg user who wants people to play standard, so he can't really help with 3 hatch hydra, right?
Wrong. "Transitions and a Simple PvZ build"
So, im still not hyped, I'm not really in trouble with transitions, and the PvZ is definatly a build which 3 hatch hydra will work against.
Wrong. When i heard the podcast, i almost went OMG YES! (but only almost). This was exactly what i needed! A goon/reaver build which also can use the 7 minute timing i read about on my camping trip! The first thing i did when it was done, was hear it again, remember it, then go straight to single player to test it. Then next day, when i finally felt confident enough to go play, and i mean go play any MU...

My stats went amok. I went on a 8 game winning streak, some of them obs games, people were like "DUDE YOU DIDN'T DO FAST EXPO AND YOU WENT DRAGOONS HOW DID YOU WIN THAT???"
Then this evening, i play a PvT. And i lost to strong FD? i think thats what it is called, not sure. I lost horribly, i stayed on 2 bases the whole game while he got 3 and the gas of a 4th. He just massed tanks and rolled me. So i began to wonder if this was just a streak of luck. At this point, i was at 1900 points and i could smell D+. I decided to go for it. PvZ vs. a D+. Great.
So this was it. I was nervous but was pretty sure of my builds strengths. He opens 9 pool gas into expo and i do Day[9]'s Goon/Reaver push. But it never gets that far. He throws down a hydra den ASAP and goes for a 2 hatch hydra break. At the same time, my corsair gets out, and i attack with my first 2 dragoons. When halfway there, I meet 2 hydras, i kill one, then retreat to prepare for defence against the break. But the guy simply quits, not even wanting to try. D+ OMG OMG
